VTR of the Month July 2011
#32
I was supposed to enter last month but got busy with work and hadn't taken the time to clean her up. I bought her a couple months ago as a daily rider and have fallen in love. It's a '98 with some miles on it, 45,000 but runs like a champ and was well maintained by the previous/first owner.
I kinda wish there was a "bone stock" class for me to enter! It is completely stock for now with the exception of the manual CCTs and the paintjob (Porsche red). It even had the noob reflectors on the stock rear end still. Waiting on forks (shock next) from JD as I'm way over these stock spring rates. If you can believe it, I can fit on this stock bike even at 6'8" tall but it is super uncomfortable as can be imagined. I've got parts ordered and on the way but probably won't be done before the end of the month.

For you to tolerate them at 6'8" tall is awesome!
Great looking bike with a lifetime still ahead of it!
Best,

I got in a very cool ride up to Estes Park, Co. this morning and took a pic on my phone of my bike. I'm pretty sure the mountains in the background are part of Rocky Mountain National Park. It looks like some pretty nice Super Hawks are posted up here, but I'll throw in mine.

i'm sure everyone is wondering why i've notably not entered my Rustoleum (tm) Jap Bike. i get tired of winning stuff. it really gets old after while. i really wanna give people like 7moore7 a chance. he spent a lot of time and effort on that bike and i don't wanna pull the rug out from under him. am i being serous? you bet'cha!

I wanted to vote for Thumper, because he has done a lot of the stuff I want to do to my bike both looks and mechanics, he has done to his. If I get mine to his level I will be happy. In the end I had to vote for 7moore7. What a difference from teh bike he began with to the bike he has today. Nicely done and I give a salute to you (holding my beer up). Damn I spilled some.

Nice SH Thumper! You have my vote. 7moore7 i thought your build was excellent until i saw the fender / upper fairing. While this choice does not lack originality it really does not compliment a otherwise excellent build.

Streetfighters never please everyone... in dreamland I'd have another shawk with fairings as I love the lines on this bike. Can't have everything, I suppose ...and the alien front was discovered cause I knew I wanted an HID projector and a screen to hide the gauges and all the wiring. It does have an interesting effect on people in person... the light output is amazing, but the "face" is small, so they have a hard time figuring out what to make of the bike. I'm already attached, so don't see it changing anytime soon, haha!

I saw this project when it was about 50% complete. Ian had helped us with the design of our Superhawk T-shirts and I was in Phoenix for my Mom's 93 B-day. It was obvious to me then the enormous dedication he had for this project. He is a worthy winner.
It reminds me of all the extrordinary people that belong to this forum. The many talents, professions and varied lives that share one not-so-great motorcycle.
But what a pile of clay it is. Each of us make it our own and the bike conforms to every inch of asphalt we demand of it.

Thanks for the votes, everyone! Definitely the cherry on top of a project that sometimes didn't look like there was a light at the end of. Gorgeous bikes on here, and I love what nuhawk said; very cool to be part of a forum where so many ages and lifestyles can enjoy this less than popular bike...
It's absolutely ridiculous how much I learned from this place... never expected it when I joined like a year ago, and really never expected the amount of entertainment in my down time at work that it would provide me
