SuperHawk Noob

Just picked up a 1999 SuperHawk VTR1000f for $600. Has 33,000 miles, Two Brother's exhaust, stage 2 jet kit, k&N filter and aftermarket windscreen. It has been down but all pieces were included. I just need to straighten or buy a new upper fairing stay bracket, put on new hand levers, get a new left peg/shift lever and put everything back together.

I previously owned a 2004 Suzuki GSXR 600 and a 1995 Yamaha Virago 535. Thought i would try out my first Honda bike since it was so cheap.

Plans =
1. get the bike inspected
need to swap the exhaust to something OEM for noise levels (MD is strict)
Was thinking about modifying cans from a Ducati 848
2. Change oil
3. Get non-ebay type flush mount turn signals

Welcome! Give your frame a good inspection where the fairing stay mounts to it... it tends to crack on these bikes with a good enough smack to the nose:

You may also look into re-packing your exhaust, as replacing with stock exhaust is like strapping two anvils to your tail...
