I've had my hawk for about a year. I hope to pick a few brains out there regarding upgrades. I'm currently running a 15t up front and will probably try a 43t out back when I go back to Deal's in the spring. Any experience with degraded performance due to carbs being out of sync? Should I raise the main jets if I'm running a K&N?
Welcome to the list! Nice looking ride, I like the blue color on the Superhawk but I bought a red one - some say they are the fastest color
I have a K&N in my '02 with pretty much stock carbs, I did shim the needles with a #4 brass washer as suggested by others on here and it did seem to make slight throttle smoother.
Carb synch is important, it won't run properly if its not in sych and it won't perform as it should.

Thanks, I'm in Ontario. I will probably have to put the bike away this week, it's starting to get pretty cold. A buddy just bought a KTM950 supermoto, I want a test ride before winter. He also rides a Monster but agrees the Hawk is blast to ride. I'll let you know what the KTM is like, at least it's a carbed twin.
I was running the Yosh cans with the regular air filter and it was ok. Then I put in the K&N and my bike ran like crap.
So I raised my needles one clip and now I couldn't be happier. The only problem I have now is I can't find anybody that will Dyno my bike because of the stuff I've done to her (Mine is named Jenny.)
I feel like my bike could be even smother.
And another coincidence... My good friend has a 950 Adventure. What a great bike. Make me want to put some painers on mine so I can play along. Well at least try.
