New 98' Superhawk on the scene...

Hey everyone. I figured I would give a quick intro so I could safely utilize the members and forums around here . Got a CBR600F3 when I was 16 and rode that for two years and loved it to death, finally had to sell it about 2 years ago and now at 21 I find myself with a superhawk.

So it's nothing special just another 98' superhawk. Didn't come with any of the fairings so it's not destined to be as showy as some of the other hawks on the forum (even though imo the bike's beauty really lies under the plastic just my style I guess). I just put 10k miles on it about a week ago and will probably get a lot more on it before I leave for basic in a couple of months. Nothing spectacular performace mod wise. Just a couple of TwoBros slip-ons.

Here is the bike in it's current condition:

Got the idea I wanted the frame to be black from mdbuehler's VTR so I decided to give it a shot and so far it's coming out nicely.

If there are any highly suggested performance/handling mods (side note: loved how the F3 handled) let me know, otherwise, nothing major in terms of performance mods expected to make their way onto the bike. Probably just a K&N. Cosmetically the bike isn't going to get new fairings and I'm going to keep it very simple (I may not be welcome round here in that case we'll see I guess).

More pics to come as the bike magically puts itself back together ((I wish)).

Cheers.

Dude, that bike is missing a back tire.

Welcome. Enjoy the heck of of it before basic!

i like you style, take everything off "including the back tire" yet still leave the mirrors on. guess that keeps it street legal... LOL yeah what he said enjoy it before you head off to basic!

keep the stock filter for now or get a bmc "street" filter if you want a reusable/clean able one.

Ok so I took yalls advice and decided to put the rear tire back on and figured I would go ahead and install the seat while I was at it:

I really liked how the black paint pulled together nicely. I'm thinking black header wrap in the very near future. And I need to figure out what I'm going to do with the radiators... *cough*paintthembalck*cough*.. Or relocate them. I'll have to do some research but just by looking at them it doesn't look too hard.

Also while I was posting I just got the new headlight assembly in so I went ahead and mocked it up. Might have to replace the lighting units that came with it though.:

So now onto repainting the undertail/cowl, tank and new headlight assembly. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Titanium Metalic so I can be just like the new hawks.
