Pistons for Firestorm

Hi everyone. I've recently purchased a 97 VTR1000 Firestorm, here in th UK. Having picked it up dead cheap, I now know I've got a lot to do if I want it up and running in time for spring 23. I've spotted th manual cam chain tensioner, I'm aware of th fact I'll need to get carbs rejetted and balanced, to match th 'custom' exhaust plus a whole miriad of other jobs. However, while I've got th engine in bits, I'm pretty keen to replace th pistons with some forged items to help raise compression. I can't seem to find any from Wiseco, my auto 'goto' for such items so I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations, please? I've spotted that this beastie varies from th SP1/2 in diameter so can't go for those. But I'm wondering if th barrels are interchangeable?
Also, will th SP1 swinging arm and suspension cross from that to mine? Or would just th suspension fit, with little or no adjustment?
Thanks for your time and no suggestion will be deemed a bad one, just curious to hear from you chaps who already know what works and what doesn't. Cheers guys.

Welcome, your a little late to the party.
I would not re-jet until you establish a known base line, that is, stock. Typically not needed for just a different exhaust. There are improvements that can be done. Search around or look here, https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...-set-up-24769/
Pistons, 8541 Hawk and others have done higher comp, here and at VTR1000.org you will have to search to find more.
Swing arm, Search or look here https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...rm-swap-17889/
