Supernewb here, looking at a Firestorm
Eurorpean name I know, I'm here.
If I could get some of your feedback, I'd love it. I'm on an SV650 now which is an ace commuter, but, one of my mates use to have a superhawk/firestorm and I dug it.
The bike in question has 38,000 miles. Seems a lot to me, my SV only has 40,000 kms and that seems a lot, but, she's a healthy beast. Other than the suspension being shot from the miles, any other things to watch out for when buying and older ('97) SH ??? What compression are they running at, I know my SV if fairly high. Thanks for any help.

The only real issues on a Superhawk/Firestorm (and not everyone gets bit by them) are the CCT's (cam chain tensioner) and the R/R (voltage Regulator).
Other than that, the rest is performance/handling improvements.

Welcome Dave... A quick search said compression is 9.4:1 an '03 and '05 so its probably the same throughout the years. Unless you are a lightweight you may need to do some suspension mods. They are a pretty well made machine except for the CCTs and regulators on the earlier models (the fiinned one is the newer design and seems to hold up better.
