Your GEICO Experience

We have been shopping for Home, Auto & Motorcycle insurance, as we have been with Nationwide General for at least 6 years, and while they have been relatively good to deal with, our premiums have kept rising it seems exponentially. Even our agent, who is usually very good, has stated off the record that new corporate upper management has been greedy and rates are comparatively over 25% higher than other carriers.

We have narrowed it down to GEICO dollar wise, and my question is to those who have had or have GEICO coverage, what has been your experience with them? Has GEICO been responsive and reasonably fair with claims, and have seemingly insignificant claims resulted in significant premium increases?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Nothing but good things to say about Geico. I don't have home insurance, but to cars, and my bike are. Great customer service.

+1 on Geico.
Switched from 21st century. Competative rates, good customer service. Have 3 cars, 2 motorcycles and the house (through Travlers with them).

+2 Geico best rate I could fine for my SH since USAA wouldn't cover it...no claims, but commercials are great

I keep hearing that about Usaa, but I've had the hawk insured with them since 05. Maybe I'm grandfathered in or something.

Yeah Drew, ten years ago I had motorcycle ins. with USAA too, but last summer they told me that they have Progressive underwriting them for them now and Progressive was more than double Geico!

I was with Geico (still a good company) for a while, but then I went with State Farm for Home, Car, and Bike insurance because they had way lower rates. I even got a small life insurance policy they gave a $8 discount to bundle and the life insurance policy was like $7.30. So the life insurance is basically free while saving .70 cents a month on the other policies.

Eitherway you go definately shop around.

I got a quote for my SH from Geico for $750. Foremost quoted $412 for the same coverage. I went to Geico first because they have the coverage on my car and truck but I bought the Foremost policy.

I also have Geico and they have been good to deal with and were the lowest rate I could find at the time. I have not had a claim but when I needed to make a change or add a bike you get the ins cards via email in minutes.

I switched from Geico to State Farm as well. Saved myself literally over $1000/year. Having a good record helps here.

I've also had Farmers and they had good bike rates.

I have Geico. When I crashed back in Dec they totaled out my BMW. They paid it out @ $9500 and I just renewed with them. My rates never went up so yeah I'm happy. I even added a second bike and my premium went up $100.00 a year

Gieko has our business and bikes. They have been good to deal with.

Chas had the parking brake brackets up under the dashboard fail/collapse and the truck ran down the hill and crashed into a parked car. It's a '92 model and has been through the thrasher four times. Still comes to work everyday.

They were great about calling an equipment failure just that and there were no further questions or premium increases.

I think they got a little even when we got the '07 but everybody got to do a little business.

Best price for my truck, but no claims. Do all my dealings over the internet. Nice and easy.

I pay $130 a year with Gieco for both my hawks. Thats with a recent moving violation and my wife listed as a part time rider on the 650 Hawk. Cheapest I could find anywhere.

I've been with GEICO for about 10 years and have had only good experiences and this includes my wife having 2 accidents, my Mustang being stolen and my 300 being broken into. Never had any issues with them.
