WTB Valve cover gaskets

Okay, I've tried so many websites (I think every site listed on here) looking for the valve cover gaskets. Gary at overstockpartsgalore.com says they don't have any in stock and no date for receiving any either. Am I stuck with going to the dealer on this one if I don't want to wait for Gary (it sounds like the cam chain is slapping around and the CCTs are on their way-scared to ride it)? Anyone know of someone else that normally carries them?
TIA

Is there a reason you need to replace them? I've had my valve covers off at least 5-6 times and I am still using the original gaskets. They are glued to the valve cover and can be reused a number of times.

Yeah, I've wondered about that. Wanted to be safe-I'll be doing this at a friends house a ways from town, and it's my only transpo. I just didn't want to have the bike apart for several days because of a shady gasket. Bring a tube of RTV right?

No need at all. I can post some pics if you like as mine are sitting on the bench right now. Just pull the covers and the gaskets will come with them.

Make sure they are clean and reinstall them dry. No muss no fuss and you are good to go.

Just make sure you don't over tighten the valve cover bolts or you will end up like me with the heads pulled to fix the threads......

servicehonda.com

Part Number 12391-MBB-000 "GASKET, HEAD COVER" $25.17

front and rear gaskets are the same so you will need to order two. Usually a good cleaning in soap and water, not solvents, will do the trick.

Right on. I did see the "GASKET, HEAD COVER" at several sites. Thanks guys. Hey 8541Hawk, are you using helicoils to fix the threads, or plug welding? Just curious. Hopefully never in that position myself.

I put a helicoil in for now. I plan on doing my motor work next year but, as the heads were off, I had to do a little porting....
