You need the bar end, the screw, and the inner weight.

If she can see the threaded hole the weight is still in there. It's the tube itself that has a small piece broken off the end. See top of page three.

I can't tell from the pics if the fuggin vibration damper piece is broken or not. The pics are too white. I also can't tell if the actual bar is broken or not, though I doubt it since they are probably drawn steel tubing and that'd be almost impossible to brittle fracture like that.

Unless it's been involved in a direct impact fall that would fracture the tubing all along the circumfirence of the tube and with fatigue fail. When the tube failed the bar end would rattle out of the thingy-wiggit and the whole thing - bar end piece, bar end, bar end screw (part 17 - gotta love it) went through the guy's windshield behind them.

You need a bar end and the screw - nothing more.

Why is that one piece broken off then?

The tube itself might have been roughed up at some point in time but it looks like you have enough of everything left to just put a new bar end on with the screw and be fine.

I’ve had 9 attempts to steal my motorcycle over the years, 6 were successful. On one occasion, the thieves kicked the clip-ons to break the ignition lock. I heard the noise, so they didn’t get that one, but the frame was pretty buggered where the locking bolt hit it. Might be something for you to check.

Josh is an unknown quantity at this point
You should unscrew the other bar end and compare what is inside that bar. You'll probably see that it looks the same at this point. There's that extra little bit on the end of the weight that keeps the bar end from spinning....I think.

Hi Ali,
Saw these on ebay. If you scroll halfway down the page to the black bar ends, you’ll see the “big ledge” is designed into the part. Red bar ends might be nice.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VTR10...43468214QQrdZ1
