What's it Worth?

Well kids I hate to say this, but I think next spring, when the my VTR turns 10, I will post to sell it.

So what do U think its worth? a breakdown of mods is like this;
2002 w/ about 45k

Ohlins rear shock, racetech springs (i think they are .95 - for someone 225lbs)
heated grips
Givi top case
soft luggage - bought last year used twice.
APE CCT
Erion pipes
new ECU in 2010
Gixxer front caliper swap
Newer regulator & battery
Zero Gravity touring windshield
LP Flush mount font signals
Frame Sliders
rear hub rubber cush's done 10k ago
stage 1 jet kit, K&N air filter
use semi-syn oil every 2 to 3k
chain & sprockets done - stock settings (15k ago)

I have all records for work performed - I'm original owner
have Pirelli Diablos on it now, they're 2k old.

Reason I'm going to sell- I've been thinking of it for about 2 yrs now, but I still love her. Want a more friendly 2 up moto. Also, was in a real bad cage accident in early Oct. Long story, but was hit head on from guy going wrong way on hiway.
Currently, laid up w/ 2 broken legs. Was in hospital & rehab for 7 weeks.

Anyway, hopefully by Feb I'll be able to walk.

Looking to buy a new V-Strom next year, if health dictates.

So VTR bros, whats my 02 worth?

Happy Turkey Day, Hug ur wife & kids - U never know what happens in life

Rhino

You'd make and extra 500 bucks if you swap out the ohlins for the stock and sell it separately... probably the same for the little bits like calipers, sliders, and exhaust too...

This only works if you still have the stock stuff

Shoot, I didn't read that whole thing. Hope you heal up, man, two broken legs does not sound like something to be taken lightly

I agree. what you can reasonably take off and sell separate will net you a better total. People don't generally want to pay much extra for things that you think are worth a lot more. If you can remove things, then work from a NADA price you'd be better off.

Pm sent, and the elders advise honestly... Honda ST100, or 1300 is my suggestion... DON'T convert to the cheap side of motorcyle production.... the folks(Supuki) that leach off Honda's technology..

As was stated you'll end up ahead selling parts like the shock and exhaust separate. By the way best wishes and heal up fast.

I have a stock shock and stock calipers (I think). I have stock fork springs but unless you know how to build the fronts it's best to let that go with the bike. LMK - it's yours for boxing and postage.

The Captain has been down the "learning how to walk again" road. He did one leg really bad. I did both but 20 years apart. Both at the same time is nearly unconscionable but did happen to the older brother of a friend of mine. It's a rugged road but keep us in touch with your progress.

Thanks for best wishes everyone.

Definitely a tough road. Maybe I will part out some items. I think I still have stock calipers, so thats an easy swap. I know I dont have stock rear shock, but someone already PM me for a swap. Not ready to start parting it out just yet, though I do have a friend near by that could do it for moi, if I want to.

Happy Turkey Day to all, hug ur families.
