What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

Today I'll be reinstalling the lower fairing as the new paint from last week has had time to dry. My wife mentioned she has problems picking it out at the track, so now the upper and lower fairings are neon green with a black front fender, tank, and tailsection. Between that and the yellow amateur number plates, it won't win any fashion awards, but she better damn well be able to see me coming!

Shim?
Due to our - minus temps not much really .. made a list of things I need , CCT's , Rubber, Chain/Sprockets
Oh ya , my last ride in October 2011 had to cut it short and park it .. WHY you ask ?
motor made this crazy-*** sound .. like some hammer bashing metal fabber !!
I'm pretty sure the shim "popped" out of the rear cylinder

Ok, where's that shim now?

In the last couple weeks....
Mounted fairing stay, gauges, R6 master cyl, traced out wiring to make sure everything was there, installed front braided lines, bled them.
Moved the entire F4i front end from my F3 to the new-2-me SH. Converted to All Ballz taper bearings in the process.
Bled rear brake line. Looked like it was maybe flushed once in it's whole life...dirty, light brown.
Bled clutch - PO's never ever changed this fluid! It was dirty brown and then there was a skummy residue on the bottom of the resevoir. yuk. had to flush 1/4 bottle of RBF600 through the line before it started to look better/good'er. Used paper towel to wipe out the resevoir. (see pics)
Replaced the gasket on the clutch slave.
Mounted the rims with new sticky-buns!
Discovered that the superbike bars that I mounted to the F4i front end was mounted crooked. :dunce: SOooo...I ordered a set of Woodcraft clip-ons with a 2" rise.
Ordered some stickers.
Installed fork sliders that I just got from Hong Kong. Not too bad...had to de-bur the axle bolt they included so it would screw in smoothly.
To Do: install Jamie D shock - paint/mount upper race fairing and tail - change to Repsol Synth oil - change to KN oil filter - flush coolant & change to Engine Ice - safety wire a few things - source an enclosed race lower - install CCTs - convert to new reg/rec.

Brought her out of hibernation, lubed the chain, changed the license plate, replaced LED license plate light, got a current state inspection and a tank full of fresh gas plus rode 100 miles. Tomorrow I will get an early start!
Need to change fluids including fork oil.

Discovered some hanging wires that could rub and get worn through... a little ziptie action and some black electrical tape to sort that out. Potential problem resolved.
Rode 50 miles.
Now I'm pondering what oil filter I'm going to use when I change the oil in her next week.

Wheelies... just a couple... and a touch of a burnoff... just for a moment of fun. I am such a child.
I do a 40 mile a day commute to work, but added another 9 because I took the long way home. I never took the long way home on the old bike.

I did nothing with mine today because I do not actually own it yet. Heading to Edmonton tomorrow to finish paying for it and to pick it up. I will post some pics once I have it.
Probably will not be riding for a while since I tapped myself out financially just buying it and I think I am going to have to pay off a couple of tickets in addition to plate costs and insurance.

Changed her oil... Mobil One Racing 4T 10w-40 Synthetic. Cleaned her up, pulling out feathers, meat, bone and blood from the bird strike yesterday. After her bath, I polished her up and lubed the chain, then took her for a ride. Found some nice twisties and practiced cornering to fix my cruiser bad habits.
46 miles added. She's purring.

.....Question: how many teeth do I drop off the rear sprocket to get my rpm down around 35-3600 @ 75mph?
Currently, at 4000rpm I'm indicating just under 75, and I've seldom done better than 30mpg at that speed. I'd like a teeny bit of "no-brainer" improvement in fuel consumption.
Down two minimum in the rear, see where it puts you.
Once that's done, what do I do to solve the fact that I will have screwed up my speedo readings along with the sprocket change.
I've heard of "speedo healers."
Yes they work,
Speedohealer,Speedo Healer,Speedohealer v4, Speedo Healer Kits, Healtech Electronics, ToBeFast.com
So many questions, so little brain......
