What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

OK so actually it was yesterday but I checked valve clearances and finally got around to adjusting TPS to factory spec. I work slow so it was a long day...
Good news is I am finally comfortable removing and replacing the fairing, carbs and both valve covers.
But even better yet, the bike still runs now!!

Blinkers stopped working again so it was time to disassemble and clean the switch. Worked like a charm. Also drained and refilled the coolant, the front & rear brake fluid, clutch fluid, and oil & filter. She's ready to go!

(My inaugural post!)
Took my '03 SuperHawk from Denver to Boulder and from there I rode up a nice twisty road that topped out at 9000ft. Stopped. Checked out the forest fire across the canyon and went back. Fun day....

Another ride today up my favourite mountain road Mt Glorious , Its a great road but can bite , lots of guys have been killed up there so it needs respect , but the scenery is great and there's always heaps of bikes up the top at a couple of coffee shops up there .

i spent all my money buying the bike and cannot afford to register it at the moment so today I went out to the garage and started it just to remind myself how well it starts. Would prefer injection; no doubt carbs work.

I completed a motor swap, tune, and strip it naked.
She runs perfect, with nice high Risers and a most comfortable seating position....
The bike is amazing, pulls so hard through the gears and the v-twin sound through carbon pipes. Like burning dinosaurs singing...
Love it

Yes, a pic is worth a million words.... As I sit next to my hawk and ponder... Maybe the front carbs was just a bit rich. Waiting for a rescue about 4 miles from home. O yeah on my way to Easter breakfast.
This should really get me the brownie points with the wife.
After going for a good 30 mile stint yesterday with no issues, today after 2 miles she rears her ugly head.
I tell myself its out of love...

You get once every 150k miles. So you're good. In the mean time, Happy Easter!
Yeah, once is all I need... Especially when my wife told my 4 year old.. nothing better than your kids busting on ya.
BTW, can you send me some pics of the undertail rad. I plan on doing that next. I love the dark bike with yellow highlights... Sweet
Tee-hee!

stuff I did to my superhawk
tore apart the carbs...found an open TPS...replaced the bolts on the carbs with stainless hex heads...made block off plates because the last owner didn't know what he was doing...polished a section of the frame to see if it could be done...

Was too nice today, SO went and got these pic's;-)
New job started Monday - it was a pay cut but I gladly took it for the "experience" and all the training I get, I'll let you all fight it out over what I do;-)
Anyway, my drive to work is a bit further now, and don't mind how dirty the bike is, LOVED riding today, rain all day tomorrow so back to the cager, but man, desolate roads, no rocks or sand, and she is running GOOD so 1st is so smooth coming up, so is Second;-)

NASA huh? Nice. Yesterday counts right? Drove downtown and got a flat tire. F*#king road construction everywhere and debris everywhere from it. Have a brand new spare in the basement ready to go though!

I got to take her out today. Another trip to Luchenbach, another afterride following the A.E. Moto GP training curriculum. The course is by invite only and you better pass scrutinization, they don't want to kill squids. Of course I'm talking about my freinds who ride 180mph on two-lane roads out in the country. Todays lesson was 130mph and how to smoothly maintain this speed. Luchenbach to Blanco in 13 min.

I just rode around. Running errands. Going to be getting too hot for recreational rides pretty soon here, but the nights are still cool.
Riding home from dinner met a guy on the road on a gixxer 750 with his girl on the back. Looked kinda bro, but whatever I do too. We pulled up to a stoplight and typical road yelling through helmet convo ensues: "What bike is that?! Sound's like my boss's Ducati" Anyway, I'm off track a little bit.
Light turns green and we both pull away very tamely and with a satisfyingly pro feel and a Volkswagen Passat or something beside us squeals big time coming away from the light. At then next light this gixxer and I are cracking up (VW is long gone) at what this guy must have been thinking... "man, I am gonna totally show these guys and probably the chick in the passenger seat how well I can drag my totally stock vehicle against motorcycles. But I won't let them know I'm racing, I'll just gun it and expect them to take off too. And expect everyone to believe that my car is faster than motorcycles"
Or he could have just been in a hurry...
