Chickenstrip, I was on the Honda Japan sight and looked at this vidio
http://www.honda.co.jp/HDTV/VTR/cm-heart/
I tried to lean more about the bike but cannot read Japanese. I could not find a still shot of the bike - in the video I could not tell it was a 250 so after Googling ‘VTR CM’ I found the above photograph and then knew it was 250cc engine as I know that motor (at first I had no idea how big it was).
PS: Never a US model.

The US version VTR250 did not have a trellis type frame and was made from steel, IIRC. It also came in gay-*** pastel colors more suited for flamers and girls. It handles poorly and didn't have enough power to get out of its own way. The newer non-US version is a much more competent bike.
Here's a link to a pic of the frame: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jetforme/2748576849/
