Volar Brake Pads

Ordered an installed Volar pads on the front this weekend. A little skeptical about $17 brakes. I read the few reviews online and decided to give it a try. After one day of mixed riding a little hwy practice emergency stops. They grip very well. I am very happy with my $17 find. I would recommend them to anyone on a budget.

Oh, and don't go spraying brake parts cleaned everywhere, it will take the paint off your rims.... now I know..

Don't feel bad, when I bought mine new back in '99 the dealer did the same thing to it after they took it out of the crate during the setup. I don't think it takes much to get the paint off the smooth part of the rim.

The non-clorinated brake parts cleaner does not remove (so far) rim or caliper paint, at least the brand I'm using (CFC).
It will however take the paint off the gas cap. I suppose if you rub long and hard enough you'll have a problem.

You should keep track of milage. You usually get the same miles per dollar. Keep an eye on them.

I have seen pads seperate from their backing so brakes are just not a place I would cheap out. And I am very cheap.

Even if they work a million times, its the one time they fail that can end your life.

Im looking to replace soon. Thankfully here in GA I still ride pretty much every day. Im looking into some EBC pads just for comparison.

I was an idiot and didn't keep the mileage tracked, I can tell its time to swap them out.

To me the best EBCs are the HH. Longest lasting and most powerful stopping.

Ok, Swapped out for the EBC HH... No comparison. The EBC are miles better than the Volar. Volar is an option for the money deficient. Looking forward to a great riding season
