It's not like putting a TL1000R engine into a TL1000s...

Well then I suppose with enough time and fabricating talent certainly anything is possible. I always wonder if it becomes easier to simply mount up some superhawk fairings onto an RC51

Even if the motor did line up where would you mount the swingarm? You'd need a completely custom frame to make it happen.

You will spend more money in parts time and labor than it would cost to sell your hawk and buy the rc. With more power you need better suspension, better braking, better chassis, etc. Why not buy a rc and put carbs on it if you don't want fi?

Well... What more info do you need?

The swingarm pivot is cast into the engine block on the VTR, it's not on the RC, the frame on the RC is "conventional" in so much as it cradles the entire engine, the VTR frame uses the engine as a stressed member, and only cradles the top of the engine...

So, if you are going to attempt this, you will have to cut the frame apart, widen it at one point, make it less wide at another... Then weld it back together, and weld on a lower part of the frame to hold the swingarm... And you will probably need to move a few of the mount points along the way...

And once that's done, to even begin to use that engine like it's supposed to, you will need to swap the front end for something that holds the road decently... Like an RC fork... And you will need to at least brace the stock swingarm to stop it flexing like crazy...

At that point, you have put as much into it as swapping outrigth for an RC would cost you, or more... And that's just the basic, need to do things... Then you add the cosmetic mods, and various performance upgrades, and it gets even worse...
