Superhawk Mileage - What Ya Got?

(I looked and didn't see a tread for mileage)

So post up year of your VTR and miles

My 2002 - turned 73k on Saturday.

Will NEVER sell it.

I would have more but cage accident in 2011 put me out of riding for 2 yrs or so. Then was out of service for R/R for a yr in 2022/3.

And work mayhem has currently restricted current season.

Anyway what ya got

From Saturday

My '99 VTR just turned 98k miles this week on a ride to the Wauseon Ohio show and swap meet. On the way I checked out the old family home in Frankfort Indiana. Still running strong!

(The black stuff on the rear cowling is rubber to protect the paint from my soft saddle bags. The bags were at the motel when this picture was taken.)

Bought new runs like a top, many mods.Have another just like it with sixty five and two more engines and frames plus, and room full of parts Including a 5.25 fuel tank for sale

Just a magnificent machine.

That still looks fast just sitting there!

The seat looks comfy: who made it? What color is the 5.25 gal tank and will it fit on a '99?

The saddle is a Sargent I bought new in 2000 that I've customized twice since and it fits my bum and gonads like a glove.

The 5.25 gallon tank is a bit orange but technically VERY close the OEM Italion Red and will fit a 99 and I believe all US years thru 05. I cut the top off a perfected good OEM tank, inserted a 2 inch spacer band and Mig welded it up then repainted and coated the interior with 2 applications of POR 15.

If your interested LMK via PM and Ill send you photos and more details.

Again go thru My posts, you've been around awhile.

I've detailed all of this stuff separately if not in bunches

here's the thing, when you do a Sano Job of mods like I have, you don't see them unless you look carefully.

So they're hard to photograph without doing one after the other which I've never posted all together.

Better for you to PM me with your email and cell #

and I can attach more photos if you're specific because again, there's a lot going on over twenty six years

I've done a lot more than even the trickest other forum folk without going to USD forks.

my fastest red has two brothers, a 76 red (of course) Yamy RD400C & 15 FJ-09, again the rippiest first year red.

They're the SLEEPER SQUAD,

a Twin Smoker carbed aiir cooled high POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO THAT WON DAYTONA AGAINST BIKES +TWICE IT'S CC, and our WC DOHC 4 VALVE 90° 996 V-Twins also with a high grunt to weight ratio, then the youngest 2smoke WANABE ripper Triple with FI, throttle modes, TC and ABS that puts out the same HP as our VTRs but is lighter and shorter that some say loves to Wheelie...

Obviously I did not know.

I eventually graduated from SDSU, the 3rd institution of higher education I matriculated to when I moved to San Diego when offered a concurrent internship a General Dynamics Convair in their Advanced Composites Department 031 Experimental Covenant.

Go Aztecs!

Old Yeller just turned 102k miles on the way back from Albuquerque. A kindly state trooper helped document that it could still maintain a respectable speed.

🤣😮‍💨 I know the feeling!

Me and a buddy were out on a weekday on our fastest red 98s and were flying low when we spotted a pair of WI local yokels pursuing us but not gaining on us at our, abbreviated pace. Finally, we slowed on a long straight section of our route, and allowed the brownies to catch up to us.

Of course you know the first thing the Sgt said to me? See below...

Ultimately, he was at least honest because they never got close enough when we were at pace to get a clock on us, so he came up with a bogus ticket. Passing more than one vehicle at a time!

Never heard of such a thing. And 6 weeks later neither had the judge, who threw out the cases. 🤣

Still cost us $300 each for the Cheesehead attorney but cheaper than the points...

I have a few miles too on my fastest red lil boy!

Still a wee lil baby at 14659 on my '03. Commuting 8miles to work a couple times a week is about all she sees.
Maybe a leg stretching trip once a year is all i got time for with other projects goin on.

ZKarma - Lad take it mas.

I need to check my miles - I think 77k-ish now.

And I did a Fly n Ride to Ohio to buy my mate a '09 Wee Strom - loaded (Lights & bags, heated grips)

Did backroads from there back to Lehigh Valley. I loved it so much I bought a '17 - loaded.

Recently road to Pa Wilds - Great stuff - a must do for all.

Heading to JMU Homecoming on them in a month.

But I'll need to get some twistys in on the VTR soon.
