Sold the VTR today but...

I have some parts. As mentioned earlier, I was planning to do a Street Fighter build. So...if anyone its interested I will be posting some stuff for sale in the appropriate section.

Otherwise, I had a great time on this forum. Learned alot.

Ciao!

Miguel

That's cool.

These forums never really lose people. The new owners for all the used bikes sold ( like me) join up.
What bike did you change to?

Yes... I was planning to make this trip across country. And I still am. I bought another bike with a slightly longer range. Roughly 200 miles per tank which is huge in percentages. I am still making the trip. No changes. Just the bike and probably the amount of cargo is less.

I am pretty sure that the new VTR owner will join up.

Miguel

ps... here is my new bike! Not an SH but it should do okay.

Back in 2009, I rode your new 990 through Washington State to California before I sold it here for what I paid.. It was an 08 like the one in your photo.
It's a fun bike. It's even faster than the Superhawk by a little bit.

The only "issues" you will have is a little vibration in the pegs and the position needs to be lower in front or the wind blast will wear you down on a multi-day ride. This can be solved by wider rubber pegs and a screen or lower bars.

Have fun.

Edit: I see you've got a screen on that thing. I stopped and bought one like that for the trip home at a shop in South Washington.

Right there with you, except i kept the SuperHawk. I picked up a KTM950 Supermoto summer before last. 10 times more fun to ride than the VTR and unfortunantly the VTR sits in the garage a lot these days. Nice SuperDuke btw Kick a$$ brakes nothing better than Brembo brakes and the LC8 is a tried and true power plant.

Nice ride!

I was once only inline 4 fan, nothing but inlines. Then i got a KTM Supermoto and started to like the thumpers and their torque, but still missed the speed of the sport bikes.
Then i find the perfect match between them with the V2 Superhawk(firestorm here).

BTW there are saome sayings about the KTMs(not true due to me)
K - crankshaeft
T - till
M - monday

and one in Bulgarian
K - карам(ride)
T - тикам(push)
M - мъча се(suffer)

However, I like KTMs, the are great!

Yea i picked up another Katoom a year ago from a 77 year old man, he bought her new in 2001 and decided to now only ride his FZ1.

I ripped the CV carb off and installed Sudco FCR41 as well as gutted the cans and rebuilt them with new inserts and packing
