Silent Member on a Superhawk.

Hello everyone, just purchased a 98 Superhawk to share the garage with the VFR. I use to own a 99 but sold it some years back and finally found one I couldn't pass up. Hope to be more active this go around.

A pic.

Welcome back!

I see you opted for the faster colored bike this time. You'll not be so silent with those Micron cans.

Nice SH, looking very clean judging from the picture, how do you like the new VFR?

Thanks for the welcome again. Yes for a 14 year old bike it's pretty clean. It came with the exhaust, Penske shock, steering damper, heli bars, stainless steel brake lines, dark smoke windscreen and only 11 thousand miles.

I really like the VFR. The bike is smooth and really handles it weight well. I researched for months before I pulled the trigger on it and it seems that everyone that talked negative about it had never ridden one. After saying that I don't believe it's worth Honda's asking price, there are just to many bikes in that price range with more options. I waited until they issued a big rebate on it that took the price down almost 6 thousand. It's the standard model.

Is that VFR a shaft drive?

Yes it is. The other thing about the design is no driveline lash. It almost resembles a chain driven motorcycle.

I saw that bike on craigslist a week ago! He'd had it up for a month or so. We should get together and ride sometime! I've only seen a couple hawks here in anchorage and they were both naked. Do you ride at tanacross?

Wow, you went from end to end from extreme heat to extreme cold how do adjust to the weather? I find it still difficult not to ride all year round.

My first year here I seemed to be cold all the time. Over time I've adjusted but at times still wish for heat.. It kills me, to not ride year round. Also when it reaches 70 here it feels hot.

Yeah, yesterday I was drenched in sweat. Haha. I can't handle more than 70+ degrees.
Going to the airshow today to check out the raptor demos, but if you're free and tomorrow is nice, we'll have to put together a ride!

We have a booth at the airshow so I will be there tomorrow. Hopefully we can get a ride in soon.
