Redline push

How far have you guys pushed your redline if at all? Anyone pooched their motor going a little too far? I have a profound respect for the redline out of fear for my bikes safety, but I would love to know the motors tested threshold.

I've bounced of the limiter a few times. Most of them have been more recently. The newer steed in the stable pulls like a freight train to 11 and when I hop on the Hawk it's easy to forget

My bike regularly sees 9 on the tachometer.

A bit pointless really as these bikes perform best between 5-8 .

This maybe subjective on my part as not all bikes are the same.

I have no intention of finding out where the limiter is.

What he said. I have hit the rev limiter many times, no big deal...that's why it's there. My '98 pulls so hard from 5-8ish that there really is no point..

1. Assuming Honda put the redline and limiter where they did for a reason...

2. Why/what's the point being most any dyno chart I've seen shows peak hp around 9k rpm, and as was already said a lot of the reason for owning a Superhawk happens between around 5-8k rpm...

Mikstr blew a cam on the dyno when pushed above 10 or 11, not willingly of coarse.
