Been searching around, but haven't been able to find the answer I am looking for.

Has any body mounted a radar detector on their SH?
I am looking for photos, etc, for some ideas.

I have seen the mount thing for the gas cap on ebay, but I want it somewhere near the gauges, so I can see it easier.

While on the topic, where did you splice into to get power?

I have escort units in all of my cars, and will prob use one of them...

a friend of mine has one on his zx6, and he just has it suction cupped to the windscreen

 

I have a Valentine one that came on the bike, i didnt get the actual radar detector But have a mount as well as the seperate "box" that was attached to the frame on the left side.... I know this is a terrible explanation but i will try and take some pics tomorrow and post them...its kinda neat, and it works to put a garage opener on it as well!! I bought the bike from a freind and actually used the detector a few times and it worked awesome!!

 

Get a high-quality cordless detector and mount it to the side of your helmet using some good velcro. You don't need to see it ... just hear it, and it is easily heard through your helmet even with earplugs on.

 

Yeah, they are easily heard and i would go with a corldess as well, the Valentine one is definitely a sweet little unit but a cordless one were you can just bring it with you and ride will be fine, even with mine that was mounted by the bars, i could hear it fine at speed turned up.

 

Send me you email and I will send you some pics of my setup I have belltronics "not spelled right" should almost be the same unit you are using. I have it hooked up to a sportvue and it works great. If you do not have a sportvue you need some way to let you know it is going off. there is some sights on this little red light dont know if it is wireless. if it is not its sucks to ride with.
