Question for VTR case splitters... o-rings on orifices?

Hi all,
Putting my SH back together after an extended time apart... (gearbox repair)

Reassembling cases: The manual says to replace the o-rings on the oil jets (orifices) that lube the gearbox. I don't remember seeing any o-rings when I took it apart, I don't have any in my boxes of parts, and neither the diagram in the manual or the parts fiche show o-rings near the oil jets.

Is this a typo in the book, or are there mystery o-rings that go in there, that will starve my new gearbox of oil if I leave them out?

Looking for someone who has gone through this before.

(and my 929 frontend parts will be here later this week! Woo hoo!)

Cheers,
Greg

Funny, I see that too, though in the parts fiche I can find no reference of any o-rings in location at all. I have included two pics of the fiche for you to look at. The only o-rings I see are the ones that go around the dowels on the top of the cylinders, part #37, between the cylinders and the heads.

I ran across the same dilemma when I split the cases and installed JE pistons this past summer. After carefully looking at all the diagrams and not finding any o-rings in my boxes of parts, I decided that there weren't any o-rings. I put it back together and haven't had any leaks or other problems.

Thanks. I checked with the lead tech at my local Honda dealer and he said the same thing. It's a misprint, no o-rings.
