Ouch!

Hey, make yourself the authorized dealer and fix it yourself. Can you imagine all the cool **** you could get for $4300, or $3800 if you have a $500 deductible? Hmmm, assuming the worst: new tank, right side plastics, front fairing, tail fairing ($950), new aftermarket rearsets ($350), adjustable clip-ons ($150), high mount Ti slip-ons ($700), Sargent seat ($350), rear shock ($850), forks worked ($350). That totals to $3700, enough to fill up the tank, do an oil change, and get a good bottle of wine to drink while looking at your new girl in the garage.

The rest of the small parts (mirror, signals, etc) can probably be bought from members on this list. How's the radiator?

Sucks man, I had a similar accident with almost an identical price tag Slowly but surely puttin everything back in place, though.

Hawkrider, where have you found rearsets for the VTR for $350? Every pair I've seen is 550+.

swordfish is an unknown quantity at this point
damn, I guess I got lucky. I went down at well over 20mph (onto grass) but my damage bill wasn't that high. had to bend the fairing stay back into shape,(its steel not aluminum). bought sharkskinz instead of the stock plastic. hunted ebay for odds and ends (clutch lever, clipons, mastercylinder, windscreen, passenger pegs), and got a subframe and shifter pedal at ron ayers. no fork or engine damage so I lucked out there.

The pictures of these rearsets this guy sells on Ebay is my bike. I sent the pics to him so others could see what they actually looked like. I think before, he just had a picture of all the pieces. I like them very much and he will even sell separate pieces when you need them.
