What did you have to do to get the RC swingarm to fit?

pivot is same size as sp2, had to make new linkage and play with spacers.

every thing is lined up,wheelbase is slightly longer though.
there is another member on this forum Mr.Billet, who has done
swap,he shortened his arm though.
since i dont have my own machine shop, mine is staying as is.
the part you have to make is the triangular piece that joins arm, shock and engine tie bar.still havent decided on body work,......how about some ideas
im looking to do a kind of moto gp,suzuka endurance type look.

consider this a kind of semi poll, what bodywork would you use..?

Mmmmm, bodywork....

I vote for Mario Nava's bodywork with a RC51 hugger from Thorsten.

Also check out the CBR600F5 and 954 race bodywork, they look pretty cool too, at least if you want to keep it Honda anyway. Check out the rest of the site, lots of other possibilities. The 04-05 Aprilia Mille bodywork is pretty neat too, but the Honda stuff I listed looks the most modern.

Also check out sharkskinz.com. The new R6 and GSXR bodies under "new products" look pretty wild. They also make MV Agusta bodies too. Hmmm...decisions decisions...

That AirTech look is just fast to look at! I'm not sure you'll ever make a Superhawk that skinny tho! Mario's stuff is nice but like you say, there's lots of it out there now.

I was wondering the same thing, though the superhawk is pretty narrow. That's why I stopped short of suggesting the 125 stuff!!

I have a 1000RR. Where are you concerned about the width? Tank area or frontal?

Hawkster,

I measured the 1000RR fairings. Looks like 20-21 inches. Not easy to do. I had to eyeball it a bit. Hope this helps.
