Opinions on redesign

Was just wondering if anyone had any feelings on the redesign of the cbr1000rr..... Personally I love the look of the new bike and hope they take the redesign down to the 600rr platform, then I think I may be forced to purchase one. I'm usually not one for the stubby side exit exhaust, but the way honda cut the exhaust and the little shield/cover, I kinda dig it. I also like the look of the rounded front now, and definitely into the integrated front mirror/signals. It looks to me like they also cut the tailsection a tad shorter, maybe due to the removal of undertail exhaust? I think my only dislike about the redesign may be the 3 spoke wheels..... A couple more spokes and I think I'd be sold for good though. Any thoughts???

+1

I think the look is great but the only thing that kills newer bikes for me is when they put 1980's style 3-spoke wheels. In know they only weigh like 5lbs a piece now, I guess I'm more about the looks of the wheel than how much they weigh but I don't think I'll every find myself in a situation where I wish I had a few less lbs. of unsprung weight.

It would have been a lot nicer to have more than three choices. In fact it was really only two. I like it... sort of. I voted "yes" but my actual feelings are not "me likey".

The back is alright but the front isn't near aggressive enough. Looks like a girly bike to me.

I thought the thing looked great in the pictures I'd seen. That was until I saw one in the dealership the other day. I guess it's just not quite my style. blah.

Honestly as long as it kicks the competitions *** who cares what it looks like. It'll get better looking real fast if it can...No I'm not the very biggest fan of the looks but I've seen worse. Maybe if I see it in person it'll look better?

Eh, I am not the biggest fan of the 2008 model. I like the exhaust under the seat, not the small one on the right, even if it is "GP style".

Hated it at first, but it's starting to grow on me.

I just seen one up close at Honda of Houston the other day and I love it. I'd still like to get one in the near future.

Talked to a guy today who bought one already, it will be the first one in San Diego. Wish I had that kind of money.

I didn't like they way it looked when I saw the first pictures and nothing has changed my mind. Perhaps when I see one in person I'll come around. Until then, I don't like it--at least I don't like the way it looks; I'm sure it would be a kick in the pants to ride.

The blunt nose look separates the '08 from the pointy nosed crowd- R-1, ZX-10, and GSX-R1000. And I'm glad to see exhausts returning to the right side of the bike eliminating the heat issue and maybe offering storage space for a single slice of Velveeta under the seat. But they're sure tiny- I saw a red, yellow/black, and red/silver at a dealer two weeks ago. At 6'1" and 207 lbs I absolutely dwarfed the bike.
