anyone interested in helping me with some stand questions?

after taking a look at materials that i have at my disposal at work i think that i can fab up some stands for, well free at work. the only problem that i'm having is i do not have any measurements to work off of. could someone take some detailed pics and mesurements for me to work off of? i could paypal some $ if you wanted for the "plans" i'm looking to fab up a front and rear...swingarm style for the rear.

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks

Umm, I don't have measurements or an idea of where to start but...depending on the end product and price I would be interested in buying one from ya. I can't justify to the wifey to spend $100+ on a pitbull stand which, to my wife, looks like tubes welded together with two wheels.

man i don't know if what i come up with will be worth buying...it will be fairly expensive to ship i'd assume also. i can try to help with plans for you? i'm totally with your wife on the $100 for tubes with wheels i think i should be able to make something that will work.

Yeah, if you have some instructions/pics/crayon drawings of what materials are used and how I can do it that would be great. I can perform miracles with a hammer and screwdriver but if welding is involve then I'm out. I can't stop staring at the light.

I'll try to take some pics with a ruler of my front PitBull stand for you but remind me if you don't get them by the weekend. I have the converter unit which is complicated to get right.

TxSuperChicken made a set that look as good as the stuff you pay a buck and a half for. PM him and he can prob give you the specs you need. He's one of the moderators here so he's used to this kind of traffic. I saw his home-built stands in action the last time we worked on bikes together and they worked really well.

For you cheap bastards (that would be me), you can make a rear wheel stand for free if you can find a heavy duty discarded shopping cart (check the back of home supply stores, etc).

Don't laff (OK go ahead) as it's been working fine for 10 years now. Sorry, can't help with the front stand tho'.

Now we have a use for their carts. This is very good!
