So has anyone seen significant engine wear lately where it was clearly attributable to the choice of wrong engine oil?

err, no.. But then I don't choose to run crappy oils...so will never see what you seek in data.

And I doubt those running Walmart SuperTech (made by pennzoil I believe) are the types to track and pay for oil analysis so will never see what you seek in data from that crowd either.
