numb hands

dunno If I am having problems limited to myself or not. But seems lately I cannot travel more than 10-15 miles and my hands go numb to the point I cannot even feel the handles I am holding. getting to be a bitch, as I have to take my hand off the handle (one side at a time and shake it for a few seconds) real pita when doing it on the hawk on throttle side lol as she slows down fast.
any solutions you guys have tried or ?

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
Do you have a death grip on the bars??

You should keep your hands light on the bars and relax while you are riding.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I stopped asking questions and just searched.
BTW.... That is the 1st sign of Karpel Tunnel Syndrome and is a problem with either your circulation or nerves.

See a doctor Brother.

thanks all. good info seth appreciate the links gave me somew ideas I am going to work on today.
A little info here...I have had problems before, as in a bad accident that left me to the point of being almost disabled "told I wouldn't work again and lived in pain bed ridden for six months (years ago). I got my sorry ex-millitary butt out of the bed and started working hard weight lifting against thier best judgement and as it turned out was once again strong as muscles compensated for the rest. the pain left as well as the following numbness. It only comes now when I ride this huge vibrator that is our bike. So looking into those mods that may be a salution

Weighted Bar ends will help ease the vibration.

Some good gel grips and gel gloves help. Check your front tire for being out of balance.

My bike doesn't vibrate.

Another thing to look into might be VFR clip ons. From what I understand you might be able to find a used set for cheap. They will raise the angle/height a little over stock. You do not need new cables or hoses, but might have to shave some on your fairings (but I am not sure about the fairing). I am going to look into this option when I get a little extra cash. I am sure I will able to locate a set on the forum eventually. I also bought a vista cruise trottle lock and it helps to rest your hand/wrist. Once I get might bike back together (waiting on a set of exhaust) maybe we can get a Ga. ride going with some others from North Ga.

seth that sounds good.
today I rolled back the runner grip (much like a condom) lol and took some of that roll gauze the kind that is coated with something special that sticks to itself, anyways rolled it around the plastic grip then rolled back into place the rubber grip over it (looks 2 times as thick as original ) and this seemed to help take the vibration out of the handles for me? dunno as its a solution but it will work till I can get some good grips. the handles look good this way just a little fat lol. but does fit my hand better now too as well as cushion it.
