November Riding
Who's riding today? When I started out this morning it was 42 degrees so the smile on my face was frozen there for the 1st hour of work after the 45 mile commute, but it's 76 now so the ride home will be worth it!
I think I'll ride again tomorrow!
Anybody still riding or has the Winter projects got the bike sidelined?

I'm in Arizona so it's nothing compared 30 degrees, but 35 min in a car in traffic vs. 25 min on a bike in the HOV lane is a no brainer. Plus, like you said, I get to work with a **** eatin' grin smeared on my face!

Supposed to be about 60 this Sunday in Md. so I'm riding up to York, Pa. for a swap meet at the York Fairgrounds. Just hoping it doesn't rain. Parts meet is all vintage stuff so I don't imagine I'll find any Hawk parts but I love looking at the old stuff anyway. And, who knows, there might be a spare drivers foot rest among the treasures waiting for me.

This was me last Saturday. My buddy can only ride once a month so this is what we did.

Unfortunately it's now below freezing most mornings until noon or so, and we had snow a couple of times already, so the Firestorm is taking it's winter nap... Me I'm playing with a Cagiva Elephant 750 instead... It's got two wheels and two cylinders so it's allright...

I rode the SH to work last night @ 11:30. It was a refreshing ride in the mid-high 40's. I've got a Firstgear Kilimanjaro, one warm-*** jacket!! I had about 1/8th inch of frost on the tank and seat cowl @ 8 this morning.
Damn Frankie! That's one good lookin' Hawk.

It's been around 60 degrees the past two days (in Ohio) and I have had the hawk out both days. Next two days have been projected in the high 60's low 70's. I'm going to get one last week in and then start on my winter projects. This bike puts a smile on my face everytime I get it out.

Ahhh... you must live in the climate full of NAU hippies and 'merican made pick 'em up trucks.
I have taken refuge amongst the Scottsdale herd whom have intriguing displays of dominance; I am documenting and tracking their ways to see if they provide any usable qualities to the human race...

I took a ride yesterday, it was in the high 50's around my area. A few layers under my suit and I was warm. I couldn't believe how well my hawk was running in this cooler air, the first time I came out of a turn hard in second it lifted the front tire right up. It's never been able to power wheelie in second so effortlessly. Going to go out again today before work.
sheldonsl - what part of Maryland are you in? Maybe I can join you sunday

I ride down to freezing around here so long as there's no salt (central-mass). Still riding regularly when it's above 34 (I go through colder sections on my commute).
Something about careening across ice in a turn about a year ago prevents me from going colder.
I figure there's a week or two left. Anywase... it doesn't feel right unless it's snowing as I pull up to the storage unit. I managed it last year.
