Noob Here`

Hey guys I am new to the site and new to v-twins. I have owned a couple zx6's and have made the switch to the liter bike. My question is what do I need to look for on my new 1998 VTR1000. It has 18000 miles on it and I picked it up for $2000. It has yoshi pipes on it. The bike rides awesome and has some major torque. Are there any common problems that I need to look for? Thanks in advance!!

Look up swapping out your r/r and replacing your CCT's. Other than that, regular maintenance and enjoy the ride!

Welcome. do some searches on the forum for both and you'll find lots of info. You might also consider braided brake lines if you ride aggressively. it helps with brake fade. Front suspension could use some upgrades too. you can search on that one too. Check on raising the ride height of the rear end. it quickens the steering.

There's honestly nothing wrong with the bike if you are just a general rider. These are items that are pretty common changes here on the forum.

R/R is regulator/rectifier. Easy to change if the elec. connector matches up.
