No shocks For 2001's?

I am a proud owner of a 2001 superhawk and the only thing I'm not proud of, after all my other modifications, is the rear shock. It's the last mod I think I really need. I was looking around at ohlins(not that I have that kinda $), and hyperpro(emulsion type) and I noticed they are available for 98-00 models. What gives? I thought the shock was the same on all models, how come the Hyperpro are not listed for 2001 I really like the price of this shock and it looks pretty decent? Does anybody else have a post 2000 model with an aftermarket shock? How do you like it?

I'm running ohlins on my 03...I'm fairly certain they were the same for all years. I like it a lot, I don't seem to lose the back tire as much coming hard out of a turn.

Not sure why they would be listed for only 98-00, although I think I've seen other stuff listed that way in catalogs as well, even though I knew they'd fit all years. I believe they should all the be the same for all years. Have you tried contacting the company to ask them just to be sure?

I put a Penske in my 2001 about 4 years ago. I installed it one winter after the riding season was over so I didn't do a back to back comparison with the stock shock. It's rebuildable and adjustable for ride height, compression, rebound and preload. I'm pretty sure that if you compare the part no. for the stock shock from '98 to '05 you'll find that it's the same for all years or, as captainchaos suggests, contact the manufacturer.
