Newbie with a few questions
Been reading your site and it's been a wealth of information and a great help but I do have a couple of questions so here it goes:
1) The K&N filter kit warns of a improper seal resulting in possible engine damage. I like my engine the way it is, can you tell me if there's a sealing process?
2) Bike seems to run fine apart from the odd burp at low RPM, bike has hindle pipes and K&N. Does this mean it's been rejetted? Bike really pulls well.
3) How do you post pictures? I am proud of her and want to show her off.
4) Bike came with an oversized rear tire 190/60/17. Have just ordered stock sized tires (Bridgestone BT014). Will there be a change in handling?
5) The stopper rings on top of the forks are 5mm up from the clip-on. I don't think this is standard, could somebody confirm? If the front end has been lowered a touch, could this cause instability?
6) Is the black with the gold wheels VTR really the fastest? I had no idea when I bought it.
Thanks in advance for any input.

1) Hmmmm, I can tell you with 100% certainty, I dunno...
2) Doesn't mean it has been, but there is a chance. I think as a rule, people can run pipes, or k&n without rejetting, but with both, i think people do....
3) Best way is to host them on cardomain or dropshots or something like that, then use the little square thingy with the mountain looking thing in it to post the link to them...
4) More than likely yes, it will..
5) Ummm... Somebody measure... The ring is just slightly higher than the top of the clipon on the forks, but not sure how far. changing the height can effect how stable the bike is, and how it handles, but slight changes make worlds of difference, and there is not real rule of thumb..
6) It comes in 2nd to Blue SuperHawks with black wheels...
7) yes, joshuatest should be bike of the year
ok, thats all i got. just so you know, i am ALWAYS right, sometimes..

Well....
Do a quick search on running a 190 tire... There a a dozen or so threads where people are inquiring about wanting to run a 190. As a general rule though, I think running a 190 makes the bike slower to turn in on...
Also, I would have to compare diameter vs stock, but if the tire has a larger overall diameter, then it could increase the rake, which could also effect handling.
kinda complicated, and i don't fully understand it, but i've seen many threads where people making those minor changes to ride height make crazy changes to stability

The stock rear rim is a 5.5, you really want a 6 inch to use a 190. It can cause cupping on the smaller rim. Also it makes a difference in handling, the steering response should be better with the 180, but maybe not a huge change.
Best way to post pictures is get a photobucket or similar account and use the add image button.
If it has hindles and a K&N than I would assume it has been rejetted. It will run pretty lean if not. Check and see if the pair is still on, that can tell you if the PO messed around under the gas tank a lot. If you throttle hangs sometimes at stop light, like around 2k rpm for a second and then drops, that could mean you are lean. Or if it backfires a lot on decel.
Most importantly....
If you are happy with the way the bike rides and feels, don't mess with it.

Not going to mess cause i am very happy. But i was under the impression that going from a 60 to a 55 would lower the rear, and i was a little worried that in doing so it may cause the steering to be a touch heavier.May sound a bit thick but what do you mean by pair.

or... if you mean PAIR... like on the bike.. lol
I am far from technical, but its basically this thingy-ma-bob system gadget that pushes fresh air into your exhaust system... I guess it helps eliminate the unburned fuel that comes through the exhaust, but i think people remove it because it makes the exhaust run hotter than it should...
but i like the pair pictured above better
