"New" Trailer Before/After
"New" Trailer Before/After
Everything on the "new" trailer is done except for wheels. I bought an old beater over the winter. I cut the axle off and put suspension under it, painted and replaced the wood floor, welded on the mounts for the lights, and wired it up. The last step will be to get 12 inch wheels for it. Otherwise, it's ready to haul the super chicken to the track the end of February! Roebling, here I come!
it was a christmas present, but it's from Harbor Freight and they have them for about 50 bucks. it's ok to hold the bike up sitting still, but not sufficient for transport. I still have to strap it down to be stable.
The one I was looking at was identical and they were on sale for 150. But they said all they did was strap down the back wheel and the front was just left in the choke. And they said it doesn't move at all. Maybe its a bit better fitting. But I like that price more and I'm the kind of guy who over straps things down. Thanks man
chock is down to $35

i know what you mean. i have no need for a chock but because it's so cheap i am tempted to buy one too!!!
that cross border shipping is rough on the wallet. i have a delivery spot on the border. it works well.

looks good man, i like it
ive got a trailer thats around the same size but its got walls on it, got a utility trailer for my bike hauling needs.
so for those who wanna order that wheel chock and ship it to canada, its like $40 to ship it and then whatever the duty and brokerage fees itll be over 100 easily. im gonna find one locally.

Dave,
I don't recall if you've been involved in the past, but you should enter "VTR of the Month". Nice looking bike, and indierocker is looking for nominees.
Nice trailer too, by the way.

well, thanks for the compliment, but my VTR is just bone stock except for the Staintune exhaust and rear seat cowl. I guess it looks nice with the numbers on it, huh.
Besides that, the left side is scratched up from my spill at the track the last time I was there. I've got a new set of plastics for it, but hey...since I'm going to the track again, no sense in putting them on just yet.
