New Superhawk owner...

6 years ago when I was shopping for my first bike I ran across a 98 Superhawk, after a lot of deliberation I passed on it and ended up with a Kawi ZX6. Ever since then I've been thinking about getting one. A month or two ago I picked up a 98 Superhawk with a blown fork seal for a song. It needs a few things but it starts and runs great. The bike is a crappy gold color, and I was thinking of repainting it white, weather has been off and on so I have some time.

I'm pretty excited about this riding season. The last few years became stagnant even though I had a liter bike in the garage, can't use all that speed on the street and the ride comfort wasn't exactly there.

I have a few questions, mainly where do I find the rear cowl? Also, does anybody sell a full set of fairing bolts/screws?

Cool Welcome

One minute on Google turned up the following

http://sharkskinz.com/shopdisplaypro...23&cat=VTR1000
http://www.probolt-usa.com/Products/Honda

White is a nice color - almost as fast as yellow.

With sharkskinz solo tail I'd lose the passenger seat. I'd like to be able to use that once in a while. Thanks for the 2nd link, exactly what I was looking for.

Try a Honda dealer for a seat cowl, there not that much new and you get the color you want. I paid $85 Canadian.

There are a few cowls on ebay.
Plus thanks for asking the bolt kit question man. I searched for a hour or so with no specific findings.

Now I can have all matching bolts SWEET

Anybody see a difference between the race lower and the street lower on the shakskinz site? They look the same and are the same price. Seemed goofy to sell them as seperate items if they are the same.

Race tend to a bit thinner and incorterate a fluid retention pan, that way if something lets loose and doesn't foul the track.

Street thicker to withstand daily use.

BUT....these are just my views...not based on fact for this product.

The big difference is the race lower is closed for fluid retention, where the street lower is open so it doesn't fill up with rain water and such.

Six years, lost, never to be recovered, years of deferred happiness on a S'hawk.
