New to the site & the VTR

I've loved the VTR for many years and just picked up a 05 with only 9500 km. I've got a few questions. I'm looking to replace the windscreen with something a little better for deflecting the wind blast. Should I just go with a double bubble or can anyone recommend something better?

Like many I'm fighting with the seat, I've read some of the threads on this topic and I'm wondering if anyone can expand on the ideal of "bending the latches(on the bike) forward a bit"?

Thanks

I tried the ZG sport touring which is taller than the DB by about 3 inches and has a flared up lip. Now, I'm 6'3" so it fits me/bike ok but it's TALL. Definitely sport touring. It is nicer for wind deflection but it vibrates at speed, not bad or tearing anything up, just annoying - and it may affect the mirrors' visibility a touch. Just got an airblade DB to try. I had trouble with seat for a while, but read the threads too and, well, just SMACK IT! I never had to bend the hooks because I bought a SARGENT and my A$$ is HAPPY!

Yup, just lift the tail of the seat and hit the seat-back with your fist toward the rear. It will come off.

It will wear in after a while, or maybe I just don't notice it anymore. Mine was a pain at first, but it comes off easy now.

Damn, it's already been 10 years! How much more wearing will it take?
