hey,

I just bought one of these gorgeous bikes and I am having a blast so far; I've been perusing this forum and other pages online and it seems like the only real "fix it or be nervous" problems are the R/R and CCTs...hopefully I can get that stuff sorted in short order and just enjoy the bike.

Believe me, those 2 problems are more than enough.

I hear you, but I am used to driving (and fixing) very old european cars so to me if these are the only big issues with the bike I am happy camper.

oh, hey - yeah I am a Canadian ex-pat living in California; so I guess if you live in California you're blaming it for my existence and political leanings

hey,

I used the search feature without luck on this one:

Where is a good place in SoCal to buy manual CCTs? I found a couple of procedures and I am down to tackle it but the only ones I have found so far are on the APE site for 117$ shipped to my zip code...sure not that much money but if I am going to pay sales tax I may as well support a local shop or firm.

I want to replace the R/R as well while I'm at it but I think there are a variety of solutions out there for that (MOSFET, use a unit from an R1, etc...) and I am still undecided on what to do.

Couple of people on here sell them for less:

Or you can make your own out of the stock ones:

Look up Tweety's R/R thread to better understand that one better (MOSFET is a type, not a brand for instance, so you can have an R1 MOSFET r/r)
