new member needs some help ^_^

Hey guys, im happy to be apart of the family :P I recenty just bought my

superhawk 1 month ago.its been bogging down, stalling and not wanting to

start back up at all,so I took it to a shop they said I had low compression in

cyclinder one, so I rip it all down and took head off sprayed carb cleaner

in cyclinder head and no leak what so ever "is that a good test ? so that

rules out bent valves, burnt valve, not sealing, then I pour oil on top of my

piston and left it there all night it didn't leak none!,so I put it all back

togather and did a couple of dabs of high temp gasket maker around my

gaskets ,and bought new spark plugs (old ones wasn't the right brand it

was a cross ref,new oil filter, new oil, new coolant , and im getting gas

today and going to see if she fires :/ I would like to hear what yall think P.s when I had oil on top of piston and I leaned bike a little bit to the right I seen a couple of drops like 3 drops and it stopped.

Holy crap. Welcome to here.

That is a pretty big step from iffy running to head removal. You coulda (shoulda) done leakdown and compression testing before the mayhem.

I would also suspect carbs way before pistons/rings/cylender etc.

You used gasket maker instead of a head gasket or in addition to?

I would be shocked if any of what you did helped anything good for the bike.

Focus on the carbs if it even runs now.

Someone on here smarter than me will point out a good carb thread but also (dare I say it) use the search tool on here for carb removal, cleaning, etc.

Oh, and find out what that "shop" did to come to their conclusions.

That about sums it up.

If you used RTM on the head gasket.. thats a failure in the making if not already leaking cylinder pressure, / coolant, might as well take it apart again clean up the mess and use new gaskets...

At this point... Id fix the user induced mistakes, then start from the top.
Clean/ inspect carbs.
Perform leak down test.
Find out what the shop did to come to the conclusion it had low compression.
