New to forum - saying "Hello"
Hello all. I just found this forum thru a link off the Yahoo Superhawk Group. Glad I found you all!
I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me and my bike.
I live in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
I have an Nighthawk S (Kerker pipe, Dynojet Stage IV kit, braided lines, etc.)
I also have a CBR 1000F (only mod is Sta-in-tune slip ons.)
AND..... a Superhawk 996 (Red)
I LOVE the Superhawk!
It has Indigo Sports carbon fiber slip ons.
Dynojet Stage IV jet kit.
K&N air filter.
Gafler braided lines and brake pads (front and rear)
Dropped one tooth on the front sprocket. (nice benefit powering out of turns)
Michelin Pilot Powers.
I mostly ride the SH at The Tail of the Dragon and other mountain roads in Tenn and North Carolina.
That is my favorite pleasure pursuit. I enjoy the chance to grind some knee pucks and after riding those roads, home just doesn't offer as much fun for sport riding. I mainly ride the CBR or the Nighthawk S around home.
Anyways, I just got thru wrestiling with a leaking fork seal. I think I got that squared away.
I look forward to sharing experiences, etc. with all you guys.
Thanks!
Brian A

Yeah, Brian welcome to the jungle.
Hope that fork seal thing's worked out too. Fork oil on the front brakes is bad news. (Been there with that problem, when a mechanic installed some fork seals incorrectly.) That situation can go bad real fast.

Thanks fro the welcome guys.
Here's a link to the Yahoo group:

I just recently started visiting it, but it appears to be pretty good.
I frequent the Deal's Gap (Tail of the Dragon) Yahoo group as well.
I'm going to try and post a pic here of me and my bike from last weekend at Tail of the Dragon.
Let's see if I can make this work here..........

Re: New to forum - saying "Hello"
Thanks.
I'm 43 going on 20 and LOVE scratching the Dragon's back! (slang for dragging a knee on The Dragon)
That is one sweet stretch of asphalt. I have been fortunate enough to ride it 100 times, 150 times, I don't know.....a lot.
We should all plan a get together there some day. I was at the Yamaha R1 rally when this pic was taken.
I think I'd go there every weekend if I could.
FWIW, I ride with guys on a Honda 954 RR, a Yamaha R1 and various other sport bikes. The Superhawk will DEFINITELY hold its own.
Of course rider ability is a HUGE factor, as is being VERY familiar with the road. (Hey, I got smoked by a man and his WIFE last year - each riding a 954 RR.)
The mods to my bike and the one tooth drop on the front spocket, makes it really fun.
I run Michelin Pilot Powers and I can play with spinning the rear tire in second gear powering out of the turns. It really is a great bike for this road.
Torgue is my friend!

Re: New to forum - saying "Hello"
Do you ever do track days at Barber? They also have a track in north FLA. (as far north as you can be without being in Georgia) called Jennings gp. Man is that place fun 130mph and no cars or semis going the other way.
Re: New to forum - saying "Hello"
Welcome Brian!
I hope to get out to the "Dragon" in my lifetime, but 2000 + miles away makes it a vacation.
Riders from other boards I am a part of make trips twice a year to Deals Gap...one of these days.
I am personaly fortunate enough to live in the Malibu Hills of SoCal, so I keep the Super Hawk busy every moment I can get.
Once again welcome!
Jason

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Let's see..... Nope. As far as I know they never found out who oiled some of the turns. As far as I know, it hasn't happened since.
I hope to do the NESBA track day at Barbers, I believe early-mid September?
Yep, 2000 miles is along way to go. If you ever get the chance, you should do it. There are plenty of great roads in the area. Blue Ridge Parkway. Cherohala Skyway, etc.
I'd love to trailer my bike to Colorado one day.
And, for you guys ******* me. here's another just to rub it in!!!
(or maybe an incentive to try and make it there one day!)
