Question Need advice on what to do with bike.

Here's my situation. I have a 1998 Firestorm that an idiot decided to run off the road and damage. I replaced the tank and tail. Whats still damaged is the the front fairing stay, needs a whole new front fairing, and the gauge case is broken where it bolts to the fairing stay. Its just sits in my garage now and collects dust until I start it up about once a week. What I'm wondering is should I try to sell it as is, fix it and sell it, or just part it out? I'm really just tired of messing with the bike. Thanks.

I say fix it. Once it's fixed, then decide what to do with it. It will bring more money if it's fixed, and i'm guessing once you start riding your bike, ....you might change your mind.

Well, if it runs great but needs only cosmetic help, buld a nasty street fighter if you don't want to replace the plastics. All you need is a tach, temp and some headlights anyways

If you do decide to part it out, I want the stock headlight if possible

My original plan was to do the streetfighter thing. The only thing I'm missing is the Streetfighter head light/turn signals and a bracket for the gauges. I also have a 2004 R6, so its not like I need to fix it to be able to ride. I could sell you the head light, just make me an offer.

kai ju is an unknown quantity at this point
There are plenty of standard/naked/streetfighter conversions on this board, you should be able to find something that floats your boat.

I don't have a problem with making it a street fighter, thats really not what i was looking for advice on. I was wondering whether it would be worth it to totally fix it, sell it as is, or part it out on here and ebay.

If u have the time and energy to strip it to the frame u will make alot from parting it out. the 98's arent worth that much... maybe 3000 if u put it back together. prolly 1500 as is... For the money it would best to put it back together, less work.

Thanks. I figured about 1500 as is. I'm about to be unemployed soon so I'll have plenty of time to decide/do what ever I decide to do. I do have a mint set of exhaust cans, I wonder if I should put them back on or leave the rough Jardines on.
