And if I try to hold it up to what seems like straight it is 15"

This is with no weight on the bike, hope it is a help.

I think Ive decided I am going to powder coat the frame, swingarm, and some engine pieces.

Ill sandblast the stuff myself, so I think I can get it all done for about 100 bucks, well at least I hope so.

Im thinking wrinkle black for the frame and swinger, and a dark gunmetal color for the engine bits.

What do you guys think?

Frame and swinger in black definitely.... not sure about wrinkle though. I'm probably gonna go with a semi-gloss (60% ish) for my VFR swinger... and maybe the frame if I'm not too lazy and unbolt everything.

RC51 swingarms fit with a little less work... an SP2 one is almost bolt on... SP1 has a larger pivot...

Also apparently for single side an Augusta MV4 swing shouuld fit...atleast it fits a VFR...

hey tweety look at this, 600 rr swinger

It happens every now and then...

What year is that? It's the first I have seen like that... All of them I have seen has had a detachable pro-link mount (4 bolts) and a completely different pivot...

That however should work nicely... I'm bad at working in inches... so what are those dimensions in mm?

Another thing thoo... It look like the shock sits about where the rear header is on a VTR... Not much room there...

Oh BTW I don't know how you define pwned... I still say it's going to take a lot of work... as in A LOT... and a linkage for a pro-link is a lot more complicated than a classic one...

Actually this is the first one ive seen thats not solid. The ones with the detachible pro link mount are the earlier versions, Pre 2005 I believe.

Im not sure of the year of the pictured one but ill find out.

WOO HOO I finally successfully downloaded the service manual.

I ordered new head gaskets and side cover gaskets today.

I moved my oil cooler but I dont have the right size metric tap to tap 2 holes in my block so it will have to wait.

I finalized my idea for my airbox. Its gonna be low volume side mounted k&n filter with ram air scoop coming out the right side between the frame and front head.

I need as much room as I can under the tank, This is all thats going in there.

Both Dynacoils
Ignitor box
reg/rect
other ignition box
fuse block
AND THE BATTERY

all thats going under the tank and cant stick up more than an inch above the framerails.

Its going to be tough to get it all in there neatly.

SO I just realized my bike is missing the entire thermostat housing. Im re doing my entire cooling system anyway so im wondering what adverse effects ill have by not running a thermostat.

I know it will take longer for the bike to fully warm up since the coolant is flowing.

Ill be running 1 radiator under the tail of the bike instead of the stock dual side mount. The rad will have 2 86 cfm fans to handle the cooling duties. The fans will be hooked up to a 3 position switch. The 3 positions are OFF, automatic(electric thermostat controlled), and manual ON.

SO, what do you think?

Little update.

The honda store wants 25 bucks each for the rubber boots that connect the carbs to the heads. I didnt even price the 4 clamps i needed also.

I went to autozone and got a radiator hose and the 4 clamps for 18 bucks total. Would have been cheaper but 2.25 is an odd size.

I also went to Batteries plus and talked batteries to the guys alot. Ive decided on a z10s battery thats absorbed glass matt, pretty small, and gives me 185 cca.

I mounted the carbs when I got home. Also figured out where all the electronics will be going. Gonna mount the coils tomorrow hopefully.

I mounted the remote reservoir for the shock. Had to modify and TIG an exhaust can hanger for a Ducati 998. I love the position of the reservoir now that I spun the shock 180.

anyone know if 5 OHM dyancoils will work with the VTR ignition system? They are off my monster.
