Socket and a hammer.
Place a rag inside the combustion chamber with it facing down on the work bench.
Place the open side of the socket on the valve spring retainer and give it a quick rap.
The keepers dislodge because the valve doesn't move (remember the rag ?) but the retainer does.

I used a socket and a bar clamp.

My favorite way to do it is a modified c clamp, works better than 4 fancy valve spring compressors ive tried.

That will also work to put it back together with.

My method is merely suitable for quick ( and dirty ) disassembly.

Sounds like a potential valve bending experience

Hey Kai Ju i forgot, you are using pusher fans right?

Im planning on using 2 radiators stacked, the one on top being smaller.

The coolant will go through the bottom rad first then be cooled further by the upper smaller one.

Im trying to decide if i should use pusher fan of puller, but my mind will probably be made up by my very limited space.

To push or to pull..................

Puller fans are far more efficient than pushers.
If you have the space between the radiator and the wheel, go with a puller, but you may need two to get enough airflow for high speed/high ambient temperatures.
Using a stock VTX1800 radiator forced me to use first one, then two pushers.
Very early on in the life of the bike I actually had a puller directly opposite the pusher, with the radiator in between, which worked reasonably well.
Once I installed the VFR tank I had to raise the seat to match the rear of the tank to the front of the seat. That gave me the space to run two pushers under the seat and the bike has never even come close to running too hot.

Im aware that the pullers are far more efficient. Im considering making a shroud from the underside of the radiator that flows twards the rear where i can mount a bigger and more efficient fan. Ill make the shroud out of fiberglass and later carbon.

Im also wondering if I should make another shroud from the top side of the radiator to a high pressure area.

I had made a couple of shrouds that ended up just inside of my knees, which on a naked bike is a high pressure area.
Sealed everything off with tape, including the subframe around the radiator, but did not seem to make a difference.
The one thing I haven't tried is to vent the top of the tailsection since the area behind the rider is a low pressure area and should promote airflow.

Here is just the wiring diagram from the service manual.

http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/219618/VT...3_VTR1000F.pdf

The whole manual is available for download off this site if you have the time to get it all..

Here: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=11365

but it is 104 MB

very nice work so far - and you work fast! I might have missed it in the first post but what do you do for work? - this looks like a full time job at the rate you have been working. Can't wait to see the finished product.

thank you lazn, it works great. Now i have to decide weather to make my own wiring harness or modify the stock one.

Im un employed at the moment Cilby. Ive been doing odd jobs in order to pay my medical bills. Ive still got an extremely fucked up knee, but i got to make money some how.

Right now in building a big deck about 60 foot up on the roof of a house.

Lifting 250 lb 2x10's 60 foot up is not exactly easy.

here is a rough idea on the bodywork. Its all gonna be carbon fiber and painted with Cadillac pearlescent white paint.

The exhaust needs to line up with the bodywork. If you're really gonna angle the subframe and seat like that I suggest you find a really good and comfortable athletic cup.

Being that you 19.... you probably won't have too many complaints, but I angled my seat slightly higher and steeper than stock on my GSXR tail I'm in the process of doing, and it's gonna make my back and wrists hurt a bit more than the stock locations...

While I liek the design... with the seat in the placement your showing, your gonna be WAY up there height wise, and maybe a bit akwardly forward... I'd suggest mocking it up with some foam/wood first, as I think you'll be suprised of the feel.

Keep the images coming... looks like a good design though.
