Metzeler or Michelin
jerryh reminded me of one thing I forgot. I do hear a howling, whining noise coming from the front tire. I attributed it to the sipping. It is not too bad but is noticeable.
tomb393, I would not shy away from the PR4 front. The feel is not too bad and I got used to it quickly. It was just a different feel than the stickier tires I was running. I believe it is because the Q2s have a round profile all the way to the edge of the tread and the PR4s have a smaller radius will 3/4 inch of flat on each side. The overall width is the same but the width of the road contact is less till you get on the flats. It was probably designed that way on purpose. A Blackbird, VFR or another heavier longer sport touring machine would probably feel more neutral and quicker steering with this tire. Maybe all the sport touring tires are made this way.
I am not a big fan of mixing tires. I like to run the same tire model on both ends. The Q2s would be sticky to the touch after a hard run but these are not. Mixing a sport touring in back with a pure sport tire does not sound good to me.
I say try the PR4s, I think you will be happy.

Going with a sport front and sport-tour rear is not an issue, been doing it for years. As the VTR goes through the rear about 1.5 times quicker than the front it balances out going with a "stickier" front (as long as its a good rain tire too) for me at least because I hate replacing a front before its time as I don't want to hassle doing later separately.
Has anyone here gotten user experience and opinion of the Dunlop Roadsmart II sport/touring design?
I am tired (no pun intended!
)of wearing out the center of the rear tire every 4 to 5 thousand miles with the Pirelli's I've run for the past few years. So I am thinking of trying this Dunlop the next I am due for new ones.
