Knife Throwing - Daily!

Hey Friends,
I know this is not a "motorcycle thing", but I have found it very good for my overall concentration, reflexes and fine motor skills in addition to the overall testosterone rush of hitting a few.
Throwing knives, axes, darts, stars and 9" concrete nails is an activity I have done daily for years and usually with groups of friends and family I have taught to throw.

I have many video demo's in both my indoor and outdoor throwing dojos on You-Tube.
Please feel free to check them all out on my page "travelinguy06".

Here is a short outside knife throwing contest demo in HD.
I was voted "Best Knife, Ax and 9" Nail Thrower" on You-Tube in 2009.

Take a look and Good Throwing!
Gunny

Awesome! But can you do it while riding? May need a throttle lock or learn to do it left handed...

I'd be ruining knives hitting the brick wall behind the target.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
I used to be pretty good with a KaBar....

Though that does look like a nice way to take out some daily frustrations.....

Thanks Sgt.
I have one mounted on the frame of my KLX 650 enduro.
(see picture)
Got stopped last summer for speeding (75 in a 45), I bet the cop the ticket that I could throw it from 15 feet away and stick it in the door of his cruiser.
I did, he tore up the $170 ticket and invited me to the station the next week for a demo using one of their "bullet proof", not throwing knife proof vests.
It was a big hit as they were surprised the knife penetrated to skin level.
( I didn't tell them I spent over 2 hours sharpening, then hardening the points of my knives the night before...)

I video taped it, but the Captain asked I not post it to my You-Tube page.

Here is my rare, 1993 KLX 650 Moto/Enduro with that same knife in it's sheath on the right side frame.

Man, you must have one hell of a good personality to even suggest the bet like that! My experience with cops has been more 'what are you doing in MY town' kind of a deal. The more I talk the less we understand each other. I got a ticket from a motorcycle cop in Arizona for 33mph in a 25 zone, 1 block from my house. What a *****!

===============

Actually, of course there were 2 cops, and while the one who took the bet from me was running my ID,
(he was about my age, but had eaten way too many doughnuts...), the other, younger cop noticed the knife on my bike and asked me about it and why it was mounted there.
The younger cop then said out of the blue that he had seen my video's on You-Tube and asked if I was:
"The Real Gunny?"
Just about then, the older, and rounder cop came back,as soon as he saw the knife he started to josh me about "how worthless a throwing knife would be, regardless of skill".

Really?
Well.........., Pfffffffffffff
That's when I asked him how much the ticket was and offered the bet.

His younger partner was adamant that I could indeed stick my knife in the door and tried to warn him that he had actually seen me on video, but the older cop said " yeah, right, if he does stick it, I'll tear up the ticket".

He had my knife in his hand at the time, so I took it, flipping it over a few times as usual as I walked over to his King County Sheriffs Car.
I placed my hand on the big gold shield sticker in the middle of the door, turned and strode four strides back (about 14 feet), turned around, threw it and Whack!
We all went over to the car, seeing my knife embedded 2-3" in the middle of the shield.
I reached down and wedged it free with a little effort.

By now, the young cop was agitated and asking "what are they going to say about the slice in the door?".

The older cop looked at him and asked... ""What slice in the door?".

True Story!

Best,
Gunny

Must be hard to find a catching assistant...
But seriously that's a great experience! Something you'd see in a movie...proof life is really stranger than fiction!

Funny you should say that, here is an old video without sound where my friend Craig is right next to the target as I throw some axes and a 9" concrete nail.
Check it out, only 26 seconds long so replay it a few times.

Best to you and yours,
Gunny

i'd like to hear more about your KaBar activities. i have one hanging from the rafters in my garage waiting to learn some new tricks.
[EDIT] it's on the ready if zombies try and get in.

i had a 3-knife sheath of throwing knives that i was practicing with, but that got stolen during the cop party in my pad.
