Introduction
Hi, names Matt. I just picked up a '98 superhawk for a song & started checking out superhawkforum for lists of common problems & modifications.
My impressions of the superhawk - Definitly snappy with the V2, I'm used to an inline four, or a single. This thing makes a nice streetbike. It's pretty well sorted from the previous owner. Ohlins shock (the spring rate is even proper for my body weight
), fork springs to match, CF Hindle cans & pretty new rubber as well. The last owner scared the crap out of himself, and dropped it in his garage. My mechanic bought it from him cheap, welded the cracked midpipe (from the garage tip-over) and then needed to get rid of it in a hurry & I picked her up.
I've had alot of bikes & my other machine is a '00 CBR929 that I've had since /04. Great bike, but I always like something different, and the price was too good to pass up. If I don't wind up riding the Superhawk, it may be my brothers next bike (a bit of a step for him though, coming from a little TW200 enduro...) 10hp - 110hp... seems like a steep learning curve to me...
I'm looking forward to picking some brains about the VTR.

Thanks guys, I'll take some pics of the VTR & post them ASAP. From what I've been reading, manual CCT will be my first priority. It looks as if the bike was neglected for quite a while, stored outside most of its life (aluminum is oxidizing in spots & it needs a good once over).
The 750 was a basketcase I rebuilt. It was a fun bike, but it can't handle the abuse the more modern bikes can. I found I was riding it too hard & I knew it was going to come back to bite me.

Just outside Toronto Ontario Canada.
Previous owner bent the clutch lever pretty good & hairline fractured the "clutch knocker" - apparently what it's called.
I tried to straighten it with a rubber mallot on the concrete floor, cracked the knocker in half...
Oh well, waiting on parts now. slow boat from Japan I guess...

Yeah, you did well. The prior owner sunk some bucks into it, even if they couldn't keep it inside...
Edit: That tank looks bigger than stock, is it the euro sized one? My stock tank is in a box, so I'm not super familiar with it by sight, but the top of yours looks taller than I recall...

It's a Canadian bike hence the Firestorm decals... An no, that's not the 19 Liter tank, the top of that is flat and it has more pronounced "wings" at the rear... That's the stock tank for the 97, ie 16 Liters... The same as you guys have...

True enough on that, I'd never trust a used helmet though, my brain deserves better than that
I think it's the stock seat reworked with a different cover, I'd have to look closer at it, but I don't think it's a corbin.
Firestorm in Canada. It's kind of neat with the two bikes, Fireblade and Firestorm.
Got my part in today. It'll be rideable by tomorrow

It looks a lot like a Sargent seat... They have a underpan in red plastic, and a storage tube... The older models did not have the tube though, and you could custom order all sorts of color combinations...
