I will never deal with Barrysuperhawk again
A few weeks back I purchased a tire from Barrysuperhawk. I went to have it mounted and I was told that the tire couldn't be mounted since there was a puncture hole in it. Naturally I was surprised at this since when he listed the tire he never mentioned that the tire had a puncture in it. In an attempt to get the tire plugged I did go to Cycle Gear, local kawasaki shop, and even a local shop and was told that because of the location of the puncture that if they tried to put a plug in it would cause more damage and none of the shops wanted to take on that liability, the puncture is located right on the edge of one of the grooves in the tire. Avon does have a warranty which covers tire punctures however the tread depth had to be 4.5mm and I only had 4mm. After many attempts to resolve this issue unfortunately we cannot come to an agreement.
I have offered on more than one occasion to send him the tire back so he can view for himself that I am not trying to scam him. I really do need the tire. However he won't take it back. Basically he told me that he's not a retail store and won't give a full refund. He did give me $25 bucks back however my recent loss of employment and lack of income is what led me to get the tire from a member in the first place.
Oh well, lesson learned. I'm really hoping other members on this board are not as shady as Barrysuperhawk has been towards me.
Barry- I really hope you enjoy the free money that you got from me.

Sad to say, I also had a bad experience with a member here. To his credit, he ultimately send back my $250, but I was still out shipping both ways for a set of forks. He could have saved me the hassle by not sending me junk in the first place.
Please respect the community of your fellow Super Hawk riders. Imagine yourself opening up the box you're about to send to a fellow member. Would YOU be disappointed to see what's inside? It's really not that hard to treat others fairly.
On the up side, a week later I bought some forks from another member. Guy made me a great deal & even threw in the triples (which I ended up needing!) for free.

I have bought a few things on here and had great results. I even sent my money up front then waited for the items as I have no paypal. Items were shipped promtly and in described condition.thanks again to you guys!! I'ts sad to hear there are a few fellow enthusiasts who resort to shady methods to pawn off junk. Maybe with names out the rest of us can go along happily ever after.

I think Greg could wave the magic wand and ******** like this would be banned from the forum permanently. Let THEM go elsewhere and pay retail. You don't screw the guys that are watching your back - especially with a tire! Somebody could have been seriously hurt by this. What we do for each other is better than ebay, better than paypal, better because it's between friends and trusted partners. Those who play the game otherwise should find themselves other places - forcibly.!!

I think marm meant a situation with Barrysuperhawk before and there was a few months back but it was barry doing the complaining. If you're still strapped for some rubber let me know I have some track day take offs you can have for the price of shipping.

That sucks, because if it's anywhere I would expect fair dealings it would be from the folks on here. And I think that unfortunately for you what happened is the exception not the rule. I bought a side fairing from Mike (superhawk22) and he made is easy, met up with me not far from my house, and gave me a really fair price. I also bought those sharkskinz from Lou (Calitoz) and he couldn't have been more helpful in keeping in touch and doing what he could to keep the shipping price down. And that's the same way I do things and it's why I refer folks to my ebay username because I'm sure most of us use it and I have perfect feedback, and a bunch of it, and at least folks have SOME kind of idea who they're dealing with. And $hit happens sometimes and normal folks understand that, as long as you make it right. And like I was saying stuff like seeing other folks offering you tires for shipping price is really cool and more representative of the kind of folks on here.

The last time Barry posted was on 10/26. Last login was 11/8. What I'm really surprised at is that fact that he's been around for a very long time (6/23/04). I reviewed the post in the classifieds that Barry posted and looked at the pics as well. The tire looks in very good condition. It surprises me that this deal went south. Is there any possiblity that the tire was punctured during shipping?

As moderator, I'd be happy to act as a third party to try to resolve this. I don't want to resort to banning just yet. But cliffhangerstx is correct. Let's not bash just yet. We've only got one side of the story thus far.

Every story has two sides. It's really cool that you guys care about what is going on with other Hawksters. That's why I am glad that I got my Hawk, and hooked up with this Forum.

I understand completely. I will bash no one on this site. I was just informing of my recent experience with another member on here. I'm sure he is a stand up guy and it's just one of those things that happen. I know both of us had agreed that this sale sucked however he has already refused to give me a full refund and that's the basis of my gripe.
