Statefarm called this morning on my way into work...haven't heard from her insurance company yet. There may be some shiny bits for sale off an 03 hawk very soon (yosh carbon ovals, titanium pazzo levers w/ blue clickers).
I'll let you know as soon as Zurich Insurance calls me w/ an inspection report.

That's a sick bike, I've seen it for sale once or twice on here already. I have a stock Looking hawk, other than a few upgrades....And I plan to keep it, had it for about a year and a half now...I also know that if I had the one in this photo, I'd keep it for a longer time... Is anything wrong with it?

The thing that is the most important is as these bikes age, are wrecked, and broken - the alternatives for Superhawk lovers is getting dim. You could go drop $20K on a Ducati, find a pristive SV (more unlikely than finding a Superhawk) or a great wealthy uncle who you have never met dies and leaves you his Agusta. I have to admit that the new Super Duke sounds very interesting but with the economy not many are out there yet.
There are not many others like a Superhawk - lots of "sort ofs" but the real McCoy is getting harder and harder to find.
BTW I think the mileage on your bike in right on the money for it's age. It's been driven enough to keep it healthy but not nearly beat. We all know from other conversations on this forum that a well cared for Superhawk can travel well above a 100k miles.
I would only offer the following advice to both of you. If you really "don't want it to be wasted" sell it to someone that will appreciate it as much as you did but be realistic about what these bikes are currently selling for.
As a buyer of a bike of this calibur, abandon Craigslist by the second month of looking. What the seller might forgive in asking price you may have to step up to some delivery or shipping expense.
Good Luck!

The driver of the focus has not even contacted her insurance company yet, I've been looking for two days and can't seem to find anything I want to replace mine w/ yet. Miserable motherfuing piece of crap car took out the only vehicle on the southbound side of the street

When a female classmate took out my son on my 98VFR I was on her *** every two days about how she and her family would liquidate the damages. She took him down in a parking lot at 3-5 mph. Luckily he was spared any injury other than a rapid heartbeat. In the end (two weeks later) she turned it in on her insurance and the company honored the claim within 24hrs. She and her parents probably - collectively got cancelled.
It was this girl's second wreck in 30 days - to the day. Don't let them slip away. Report it to your insurance company as well - just so you have a date stamp if nothing more.
Pay to have a professional shop prepare a wreck estimate. This gives you huge bargaining power.
Don't wait for her company to call you. Call them and tell them to get an appraiser over ASAP to take snaps of your bike. Hand him the wreck estimate while he's there. Remember selling them a truley busted bike is much better than buy back/rebuilld. They want you to do the work, make the investment of the appraisal so it makes their decision easy. They will total it so prepare for the next chapter.

I called my insurance co at 9 am on thursday, their addjuster is due out today or monday. It was a company car that did all this damage so I've already left messages w/ them as well.

Dunno how it works in the US... But around here if you don't report it to your insurance company in "due time" (a bit different for each company) they will double or triple the deductable for you...
I had my bike knocked over in a parking lot and immidiately reported it along with all the information to my insurance company... She however didn't... After 7 day's I basicly got a blank check to have the bike repaired from my insurance company, who forwarded it to hers which in turn cancelled all her policies (apparently she had house and all that at the same company) and sent her the bill for a triple deductable since they hadn't yet gotten a report from her...
I imagine she now has a hard time finding anyone willing to insure her... So somehow I think reporting it in would be in both parties best interest...

You should of got all her info at the scene. DL #, address, insurance info, tag #, etc.
Just call her insurance company. They will find her policy and handle it internally then send out their adjuster to photo your bike at the dealership your having your wreck estimate at. A check will be on the way shortly there after. Go shopping for another bike.

Awesome. That will give you some more pull if they company shares liability or if she risks losing her job over it if she doesn't make it right.

Here's my Craigslisting that isn't published yet:
2004 Super Hawk VTR 1000 - $4250 firm
Less than 3,000 miles (as of today, getting close). Like new. Black with gold rims. Vtwin sound with sportbike handling.
Awesome bike.
Have not mounted 2Bro exhaust and Helibars that I'm selling separately but could go with. ($425+200)

This is also another damn good candidate for taking a pristine stock machine in whatever direction you choose! Damn I wish you guys would have been around a couple years ago.
Really nice machine, MLB! Would kill to have your digital setup. Very fair price and being able to source the other goodies at a bargain is also a nice chip.
I did look at a 2004 with the idea of moving all my speed gear to a later model bike and then dump the 98. The '04 bike was a dump. Rusting high mounts, been outside uncovered for some time. Owner was underwater with his bank. Plates had expired - everything about the bike spelled neglect.
This one is quite the opposite.
