I just did the coolest thing ever.
So I was cruising round my town, going down a big residential street on a test ride at aboot 30mph or so, when I suddenly and violently came across two GIGANTIC dips in the road. The old gutters occasionally cross the road at an intersection, but are never marked. And the sun was just setting, the road was unfamiliar, and well, I didn't see them coming. So I hit HARD. The bike and I were thrown violently into the air, where I proceeded to do a totally badass straight up hand stand on my handlebars. Totally vertical. When the I (and the rear wheel) came back down, we hit with such force that the battery, icm, ecu, and all fuses, relays, etc broke through my undertail and hit my rear tire. I was able to keep control and pull over, where some very wide eyed fat kid (who looked just like this: ) was like, "dude, are you okay?" I said "I think so", and then he stared at me for 15 minutes while I tried to wrap my electronics around my subframe enough to ride home with my seat in my jacket. It's very difficult to ride standing up. Not so much when you're moving, but starting out is a bitch. Anyway, I have to be creative to get her roadgoing again, but so far as I can tell the only damaged part was the plastic undertray. Wish me luck!

I'm sure it was nowhere near as cool as it looked in my head, but as there is no video evidence I can continue to think I looked like a ballerina, rather than a chicken with its head cut off flaying all over and screaming expletives beneath my helmet... but you're right at least I didn't go down.

haha! that was a good read. its great that your ok, but that had to have been worth it just to say that you did it. though it is still too bad that you have to put a little money into it to fix it, probably not much though.

Close calls... they get your attention. It's really cool... if you don't go down.
One of the runs we do out to the mountains has this railroad crossing. It has an almost ramp-like rise right at the tracks. Hit it at 50-55 mph & you're airborne Steve McQueen-style. Big fun, even with a little headshake when you touch down.
