I HATE SAND!
I HATE SAND!
Had a bad day yesterday. I was coming around a corner, and didn't see the sand in the road. I lost the front end, and hit my back on the curb. I am VERY sore right now, and my bike is all banged up. Luckily, I had just bought a new back protector, so it took the brunt of the force. Had I not been wearing one, I think I could have broken my back. Here are a few pictures.

If I hadn't been ATGATT, I would for sure be in the hospital right now. The gear saved my butt. Just a reminder to always wear your gear.

WOW we are all glad your alright, the bike will be fixed, and your body will heal, here in MN the spring brings TONS of sand its extremely nerve-racking for about 2 months until we get a few big t storms in.
luckily my bike was crashed with only a couple weeks left in the season

A VERY wise choice to wear your gear as you would certainly be doing some time in the hospital. Unfortuntely, no matter how many times this is preached, no matter how many examples are pointed to with a "look how this saved my ***" caption, the folks who don't wear their gear will continue to feel superior and still ride in shorts and flip flops. Glad you are relatively OK!
That sucks, sorry about that. Good for you for having proper gear on! I've preached that to folks for a long time. Sorry about your bike, but they can be fixed. I know it's a really shitty feeling, but you making it out ok with no permanent injuries is what counts. Heal up and feel better soon.
HA! It's funny you say that because I was thinking the same thing.
After I got it back up and started riding it home sans clutch lever ans shifter, I was thinking to my self, "Should'a had dirt tires on today."
Right here, in Santa Susana Pass right before the church entrance if you are heading to the Valley.

When I went back to look for my wallet, and my phone, I found a frame slider in the ditch. I am wondering if someone else went down in the same spot.........
Yep, it is easy to miss the sand.
Look what my brother did not see

I was ridinf behind him. Just exiting a corner i saw the sand and hit the brakes before it, then look forward and saw my brother sliding.
I was scared for him, but in the same time he was looking so ridiculous
The bike has crash bars and he was full gear on, so nothing than some
scraches on the bike and the brand new leathers.
We did not stop the ride, because this view was waiting for us.

(the left bike crashed
)
So i hope you heal soon and so does the bike.
P.S. invest in crash bars
