How many SH's were factory Orange?

I ran across a 2004 Superhawk that is factory Orange is has 1200 actual miles. I'm not sure the price is right at $5000? It's $1000 over my budget but it looks showroom new. Literally. The owner offered to let me have it at $4000 and pay him the difference over the next 6 months.

My question is how many SH's were factory orange? This is the first that I've run across.

I can imagine a good "Competition Orange" paint-job, with all the factory decals, could be very attractive. But not stock.

Actually if you look at the back of the Haynes manual there's an orange firestorm that I'm assuming was offered overseas. Does it say superhawk or firestorm? But you said miles and it would be in kilometers so I'm assuming it's a superhawk... Speaking of the factory decal/alternate color thing there were a bunch of guys down here a few years ago who all rode R1's together and they were all factory paint/decal style bikes but all had alternate colors not offered by the factory. There were about five of them and they looked really cool.

If you go on youtube to cyclone motorcycle alarms they demonstrate on an orange superhawk. Maybe this is the one & only orange "mystery machine". Just in time for halloween.

It's a SH and it's all bone stock. I might snap a picture of it today. I've gotta give him an answer on his offer. Pretty straight up guy and a NCIS agent to boot.

$5,000 seems quite high for a price, low 4's sound a little more like it. As far as the orange goes check the gauages to see if they read in mph or kph.

Canadian maybe? Never heard of orange in the US.

Go for a lower price, but remember @ 1200 miles it is really a new bike.

Give him a good answer, not speculation.

Pull the seat, read the paint code, and see what it says. Then you'll know if it was orange.

If you want to know if it was imported to the states, check to see if the speedo reads primarily in MPH or Km/H.

BTW, I paid $3000 for 2000 with 13,000 miles. So to me, a 2004 with 1200 miles for $5000 in primo condition doesn't sound unreasonable. My dad has been telling me prices of SHs in CO, they sell for more there, than they do on the East Coast. It seems to be regional.

Check Ebay and Craigslist, and find some year and mileage comparisons, then you'll know if you want to buy it.

Sounds like "Honda Orange" which is what Honda Red is sometimes referred to as. I've seen this in Honda's offroad vehicles.

I'll go over and pull the get the paint code. Where do I find the index that tells me what code is which color? The color reminds me of KTM orange and actually looks very good.

My wife is giving me hell over trying to spend over budget....

A list of the European colors that has been available over the years... Codes should be the same...

AFAIK it was only available in 99?

Went back in the daylight and checked the SH out closely. Used to be yellow. Not a good paint job either. He wouldn't move on the price either. And after seeing the paint, it would drive me nuts until I repainted it.

Yeah, I would walk away from that deal. Paint jobs, good ones are at least a thousand bucks and you get to do most of the work. I've done a **** load of body work in my life and it's about on the order of tape & float on sheetrock and watching paint dry. Boring, cheap entertainment that goes on for days.

That sucks, cant believe they did a crappy paint job on that new of a bike with only 1200 miles! Mine almost has 20k on it and I am tearing my bike apart and painting it very good, showroom quality you might say? lol. Going to be Lamborghini Pearl Orange I believe?
