How many Superhawks/Firestorms were produced?

I can't seem to find this info anywhere.

There was a thread on vin #s which was pretty interesting.

Anyone know, or have an estimate? Seems to be lots of 98s.

These are the highest numbers from the registry, which is a mess, not sure if I have this right:

97/98 008469
98/99 104727
99/00 203574
00/01 302254
01/02 400872
02/03 501029
03/04 601021
04/05 7000381
2005 8000134

So that means there's at least 22,500, and not quite 40% of them are first year models!

And the Firestorms seem to have a sequential vin with the SH. Or would it be different for bikes sold outside the U.S.?

My first ever post was in response to this same question.Look it up if you want. But I came up with about the same number. You could maybe round up too 25-30 thousand. The next question that interests me,is.How many came to the U.S. I'll guess half of them.

I believe there are also VTRs sold in N.Z. and Australia as both '06 and '07 model year.
Don't know if they had '06 and '07 build dates.
