Meanhawk, your problem may be one of the several factors that these guys said, but I'm with the thought that playing with riding position helps. If I lean less on the bars and grip lightly I don't get numbness. Leaning on the bars I could get numb in 20min on a highway commute.

ya thats makes alot of senseand i find i lean on my wrist alot, also i have shimmed the rear of my bike which does not help my forward leanig position case haha im also going to try new grips i think

Hell, no wonder your wrists are going numb. Get your ole lady off your back, buy her a grab rail: http://www.revsperformance.com/images/renntec/sports_luggage_racks/Honda_VTR1000_SuperHawk_Sports_Luggage_Rack_REN721 2B.jpg

Then there is the Ventura Sport Pack system. They have a mount and grab bar for ~$190

Then if you wanted to ever travel on your SHawk, you could add, and bungee something to, their $70 Sport Rack:

Or go whole hog and add a Bike Pack. I had this on a '97 Truimph Sprint Sport and liked it very much. You can carry a crapload of stuff with this system.

The different racks all slip into the bolted-on L-brackets, and swap out quickly.

The 20$ one in the auto aisle, its made to take with you to the stadium or something, I ran a strap around the seat so it would not fall off when I get air. Unreal improvement for 20 bones and doesnt look bad either.

Funny, I forget sometimes that not everyone has a camera-phone and computer, that chat on a forum on the Internet. Hey, wait a minute...

Looks just like that from here. Seems to look better on the Hawk tho. I have one on my XRL and in my work truck. It's that or 400$ for a Sargeant. You end up sitting a bit higher of course but I have tested it to 140 and I don't want to ride without it.

Well to each his own. I have been accused of being a hard ***. I suppose that works for me, as I can ride all day on the stock saddle without discomfort. Then again, I'm a bicyclist, so maybe that helps.
